  1. I distinctly remember Terry Mulholland blowing a game at the Astrodome like that. I think it was a big game too, I just can't remember the context I seem to remember him gloving it and then soft tossing way over the the head of the 1b. I thought it was a lob. Either way, I hate it when pitchers botch those throws.

  3. My sister works for the Wolves. I can get you all the Wolf tickets you want !! Haha not only does that answer my question. I'm offended.
  4. I just wonder if the Tigers were managed by anyone other than Jim Leyland if Larussa wouldn't have raised a bigger stink? If that was Dusty in the other dugout I'm sure Larussa would have been out there in a heartbeat. I don't think someone as intense and baseball savvy as LaRussa would put friendship above winning a World Series. I just think he realized arguing would not have accomplished much (especially after Rogers hand was cleaned) and didn't want to come off as a whiner. The fact remains, Rogers pitched 7 of 8 innings with a "clean" hand. True. I just remember sitting in the box seats of that Cubs/Cards series a couple of years ago where Dusty and Larussa got into it. At one point they were yelling at each other from the dugouts. I couldn't hear everything but the eff bomb did slip a couple of times. Ah yes, the confrontation that prompted Dusty to use the infamous "wolf tickets" quote. Wolf tickets?

Whenever there was a fox saturday game, theyd show a cubs/cards montage with awesome pump up music playing, and the clip of dusty and larussa yelling at each other. Something tells me Piniella will take significantly less crap
  6. Yeah. He was put into a really tough situation. However, he's still not the right coach for the situation. I feel really awful for everyone on the team
  7. that's a beautiful rendition...doesn't surprise me at all that people were in an uproar about it though. Yeah, it's sung beautifully. I don't really like how he makes it sound like a pop song though, haha. My favorite is Whitney Houston's at the 1991 or 1990 superbowl
  8. Yeah, I still don't understand what he said in the postgame interview. in the espn.com article, however, he said the ump told him about it
  9. What the hell is this supposed to even mean? What's with the Missouri hate, by the way? It was just a joke. I knew you guys would take it to the extreme. I didn't get the joke either...
  10. Wait, what did Rogers say the umpire said to him? The time in between the games?
  11. Normal Molina returns. Detroit wins 3-1
  12. Well, here's St. Louis' most dangerous hitter, Molina with the bases loaded. Jones really reminds me of Rod Beck
  13. Nope, just an rbi double. top 9 2nd and 3rd 2 out, 3-1 det
  14. Knowing our luck, Edmonds is going to hit a game tying homerun.
  15. Well that is a foreign substance, I guess. Doesn't that all depend on whose it was and how it got onto his hands?
  16. I'm outraged. Oh and btw jon -- not trying to start a complete lie rumor or scare you, but a girl I met throught a friend told me that Tyrell had mentioned to her in passing that he hates fitz and would consider transferring. I met the girl at a party and don't know her. She said she lived with him in Elder last year. She could be out of her mind for all I know. But I think we should fire fitz just to make sure.
  17. Yeah, it really does. Also, it's kind of interesting how his performance hasn't changed since he took it off. Or maybe that's due to him being more relaxed as det had already scored when he took it off.
  18. Beckett? Koufax, Gibson, Ford, Johnson/Schilling, and many more I'm sure. Koufax comes the closest, but none of them have had as many consecutive scoreless innings.
  19. Beckett? Close. In 2003: 2-2 2.11 era 2 cg 2 so and 21hits, 47k, 12bb in 42.7 innings
  20. Do we have to hear that song every 7th inning stretch? Why can't we just honor America before the game with the National Anthem and baseball during the game with Take Me Out to the Ballgame? I think there are much better sounding patriotic songs (such as America the Beautiful) anyway, if we're going for the patriotism during. Why do you hate America? Hahaha. Not America, just its most overrated song. It's based on another country's national anthem for God's sake! Forgive my ignorance what song is "God Bless America" based on? I think maybe he's confused with "My Country tis of Thee", which is based on the British national anthem. Yes, my mistake. Whoops. Either way, I still think we have better options.
  21. Wasn't there a chance he could've come back during last season? Ridiculous.
  22. Casey hits an rbi single scoring Guillen. 3-0 det
  23. Wow. Weaver gets out of a bases-loaded no out jam
  24. Well, to be fair to Buck, it is a pretty disgusting act.
  25. Ooooh LaRussa says he doesn't want to talk about the Roger's hand situation during the game. Scandalous.
