  1. you say this all the while campaigning to exile the guy with 2 BB/9 : 8.9 K/9, 3.49 FIP as a Cub amusingly, those rates were 3.1 & 6.5 before we signed him, at age 31... I'm the guy campaigning to not exile that guy. be that as it may...THE POINT REMAINS
  2. you say this all the while campaigning to exile the guy with 2 BB/9 : 8.9 K/9, 3.49 FIP as a Cub amusingly, those rates were 3.1 & 6.5 before we signed him, at age 31...
  3. whoa that was eerie
  4. Leake can't take over a game like Samardzija can. Leake is also projected to make 5/80 well, yeah, he can last 3 years starts w/ 7+ IP, 2- ER: Shark - 38% / Leake - 37% but also Leake doesn't bomb a game quite like Samardzija can... starts w/ 4+ ER: Shark - 37% / Leake - 32%
  5. everybody seems to be cool with Shark, yet this guy has had 40% more on-field value since Shark became a full-time starter, and Leake will probably come at some crazy affordable price (3/42?)
  6. because Jason Heyward is going to run down all the fly balls he'll induce and he'll be a nice #5 #4 when we trade off Gleyber Torres and young P at the deadline for a SP edit: forgot about Jon Lester
  7. Didn't they just sign the interim guy to a 2 year deal? By the way, I'd absolutely be in favor of that move. yeah, and they seem super excited about it
  8. decimated depth coming to roost but on the bright side maybe this affords us a couple more years of Durkin?
  9. death by 1,000 paper cuts
  10. he punted from the UNL 38 today on 4th & 2

  12. This Week In College Football: The 13 Teams That Still Have A Shot http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/college-football-week-13-preview/ hey alright, seven percent!
  13. why do i keep forgetting how dumb this thread is and clicking it
  14. wasn't LSU a brief stop on the Gunner Kiel* Tour? *another victim of a targeting penalty/non-penalty/maybe-penalty/who-really-knows
  15. untrue parenthetical
  16. probably meant we have a 2 year window to threaten most wins in a season record then we'll maybe regress to plain ol' mid-90 win seasons
  17. we've maybe reached peak recruiting
  18. amongst all qualified hitters last season, Heyward was - 74th percentile for OBP - 74th percentile for strikeout rate - 95th percentile for stolen base value (wSB) - 85th percentile for taking pitches out of the zone - 71st percentile for walk rate - 86th percentile for Speed Score - 96th percentile for baserunning value - 74th percentile for contact rate so, i mean, if he's not a good leadoff hitter, who is?
  19. i wasn't going to bother the first time you said it, but since this makes twice... who is to say any of that would've played out the same had he kicked, especially since not kicking resulted in them getting the ball where they did? it probably wouldn't have. going for the TD was fine. coaches choosing TDs over FGs should always be celebrated regardless of the situation
  20. give Cam the MVP
  21. funny to think that Sebastian Janikowski was drafted the same year as Ron Dayne
  22. Michael Crabtree getting process'd now to reverse 3rd & 9 conversion, taking like seven steps before bracing his fall with the football hand and putting it on the ground cool rule, NFL
