I'm surprised this league is being drafted no differently than a single-season. I would have expected some of the older guys drafted to be ignored more and overdrafts on some of the future stars, that's the way they've gone in my experience.

A guy who can barely create his own shot and is dependant on someone else to get him the ball in the paint would usually imply that the player isn't very good. Most good players can create their own shots. Well Amare can create his own shot off of rebounds and post-moves. He can't off the dribble, but most bigs can't. He's good, not great. I agree he is a good player. I do think he will get the chance to create more now off of the dribble. I think he will be able to some. ..."good" has to cover an awful lot of ground if Amare is just "good." He's 3rd in the league in PER, first in PER48. but that's quite obviously aided by Nash making the game easier for him. Compare that to Howard who has to work his way into position on the low post and create his own shots much more often without an elite distributor. Amare's an outstanding player but not the best at his position.

Getting rid of the offensive black holes Wallace and Duhon will be terrific for the Bulls. Hughes is talented enough to be a starter on a playoff team, neither of the two players they're losing are.

why do you assume arod and pujols are dirty, but manny plays clean? It's probably because he likes Manny but doesn't like Arod and Pujols. It seems to be the modus de jour to accuse all great players that a person doesn't like as being a juicer whether there's any shread of credible proof or not. Pujols goes from a 13th round pick out of some obscure JuCo to the greatest hitter in the game, and Arod's involvement with Boras and talks of "extensive offseason workouts" before the best season of his career, and coincedentally, a new contract are what cause me to be leery. Manny has stayed at a consistent level of offensive greatness his entire career and I've seen little reason to expect it was steroid-aided.

I wouldn't be too nervous about it. His K rate will also come down a reasonable amount to lessen the sting of his BABIP regression. i wouldn't expect less than a .280 avg from him this year. a bigger concern is that he loses value after this year after being stripped of 2B eligibility. but by then he'll likely be a 25/40 player, which plays well at any position.
