  1. well, other than at least 60 K and better ERA/WHIP, he's right...
  2. those guys are obnoxiously myopic. i enjoy the site as a collection of bad sports journalism articles, but their attitude of unwarranted condescension in the comments gets tedious pretty fast.
  3. I'm guessing Von Joshua. He seems to be King Midas lately, the only capable instructor in the system.
  4. What if Gordon walks? J.R. is a surefire 15 PPG player if he gets starter's PT.
  5. well we might as well not put any hitters on a prospect list, if that's the case. i'd like to hope things are changing for the better with our hitting prospects looking better than in the past. i wasn't really saying I disagreed with you, but I just was curious the reason for such adamant negativity for Vitters, mainly. the others have glaring question marks, but the prospect lists that like these guys have access to that information too, and must see some sign to provide optimism they're able to fix the flaws. you aren't in the 'shoulda drafted snider' crowd, i assume?
  6. I got bored at work earlier. It was never a high priority. I don't see how this is pertinent to my initial point. I was speaking for the rankings in general they post. But it does appear most of the egregious wrongs that had came to mind were on Jazayerli. I didn't really have a motive, like I said I got bored. If I find the 2001s I might do them up.
  7. Gerald Green traded to Houston Maybe he should have gone to college.
  8. FWIW 2001: http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e382/harryddunn/bpba01.jpg 2002: http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e382/harryddunn/bpba02.jpg?t=1203791949
  9. i don't see the love for Bryan Anderson. If you're talking about EqA, Pecota has him in the .240.245 range the next few years peaking at .260 (.270/.330/.425) with mediocre at best defense. that's just gross.
  10. if your fantasies involve Khalil Greene, may God have pity on your soul.
  11. I was watching a O's - Twins broadcast on ESPN last year and (I think it was) Gary Thorne was talking about the catching talents on display from both teams, with Mauer who was the batting champion, Redmond who hit like .330 and 20 HR hitter Ramon Hernandez. A couple seconds later Dusty interjected, "...and Bako!" in the most sincere voice possible. Man, I really don't miss that guy one bit.
  12. This guy could be Vince Carter, with his skillset. Speaking of underachievers...
  13. carmelo is such a baby. maybe if someone would guard gordon then you might have had a shot, but the bulls outworked you guys on the glass, too. how is he a baby? Karl said they lost because they didn't respect the Bulls. Carmelo said that simply wasn't the case.
  14. i'm still laughing at 59.
  15. Wow, that team tab is epic.
  16. JR Smith, a taller, less talented version of Ben Gordon, that's why... Hold on a second there, there are few players in the league more talented than J.R. Smith.
  17. J.R. Smith for Howard Eisley. I still can't figure that one out.
  18. that's just an asinine rhetorical question. I can't ask if he's seen these guys play? if he had, I'd be interested in what he saw that caused him to view them more harshly than everyone else. how on Earth can you judge a guy based solely on high school stats?? or a guy who was instructed not to throw his best pitch for much of the year.
  19. I know I'd love having a SS who threw with his left hand.
  20. But Smoltz and similar players I would argue should be devalued in a keeper league; players that you pick at the top few rounds of the draft should have some potential for keeping. But, I'm also surprised that everyone here is doing 5x5 instead of custom leagues with other categories included.
  21. how much have you watched Vitters, Samards & Colvin play?
  22. I'm surprised this league is being drafted no differently than a single-season. I would have expected some of the older guys drafted to be ignored more and overdrafts on some of the future stars, that's the way they've gone in my experience.
  23. that is a bold statement as he can barely create his own shot, dependent on an all-star distributor to get him the ball in the paint. but he's a fantastic finisher. Playing with Nash makes him better, no doubt. But if you don't think he would be a very good player on any team I think you are crazy. Good thing he didn't say that he wasn't a very good player. He just said he isn't the best player. Not an earth-shattering statement. Acutally what you quoted is saying more than that. A guy who can barely create his own shot and is dependant on someone else to get him the ball in the paint would usually imply that the player isn't very good. Most good players can create their own shots. Well Amare can create his own shot off of rebounds and post-moves. He can't off the dribble, but most bigs can't. He's good, not great. I agree he is a good player. I do think he will get the chance to create more now off of the dribble. I think he will be able to some. ..."good" has to cover an awful lot of ground if Amare is just "good." He's 3rd in the league in PER, first in PER48. but that's quite obviously aided by Nash making the game easier for him. Compare that to Howard who has to work his way into position on the low post and create his own shots much more often without an elite distributor. Amare's an outstanding player but not the best at his position.
  24. Danny Ferry: awful GM or awfulest GM?
  25. He's in the middle of a 5 year $65m contract. So he's got 2 years remaining after this season, and probably $26m or so left on it. Getting rid of the offensive black holes Wallace and Duhon will be terrific for the Bulls. Hughes is talented enough to be a starter on a playoff team, neither of the two players they're losing are.
