  1. it's .890 (.292/.390/.500) over the last five seasons. his age 22 suckitude means diddly poo; why you choose to continually embarrass yourself by citing career numbers is puzzling.
  2. we're on a 90-win pace, not really sure the rationale or reasoning behind mass panic
  3. beltre's actually not overpaid, but that's a different topic altogether
  4. Kronwall, Filppula, Helm, Ericsson and Leino have really bright futures. and if they can get Howard or Larsson in there, they're set up well to be dominant for another decade.
  5. i remember when Peyton Manning didn't "have what it takes to win in the playoffs" and Steve Yzerman and Jordan, too
  6. Cant tell if your kidding or not, but Rickie Weeks injury doesnt make us the favorites to win any more than Aramis going down makes the Brewers favorites to win. If Gamel becomes an every day player, this could make the Brewers offense better. i wasn't joking. the Brewers won't be much of a threat, unless they can trade for a frontline pitcher again.
  7. this all but assures us the division now, so in that regard, it's good fortune
  8. i don't know why people keep thinking Hanley needs to move off SS
  9. that's a bad ailment in combination with his Bad at Baseball Disorder
  10. how the hell did Bulin see that?
  11. the Os are overjoyed to get that line from anybody
  12. i really, sincerely doubt it. they might be able to steal 2, but likely will be outplayed nearly all series. the ducks haven't a prayer either of coming back in the series. you'll see something like 5-1 tonight.
  13. wait i don't see ty cobb in the box score
  14. i hope people realize if Braun were a Cub everyone would be wearing yarmulkes whenever their karate headbands made it into the wash
  15. holy s might as well do away with the goalies at this point
  16. being a top 20 hitter in your league at age 24 is hardly an indictment going forward TT, who in the NL besides Pujols would you expect to out-hit Braun? fwiw, i don't think being a -5 fielder is going to stick in the writers minds enough to significantly hinder his chances of winning an MVP. Keeping in mind he's a horrendous defender in LF, I don't think it's far fetched to find 10 guys. He didn't crack my MVP ballot last year. He didn't make yours either. because of a .335 OBP registered last year which he's already shown great strides in improving. i absolutely agree he's likely a future MVP. Jay Bruce and Upton are two others i'd lay pretty good odds for, too.
  17. 10? Hanley, Utley and maybe Wright are probably the only hitters i'd listen to arguments for
  18. 36/38 on the "'the' bands" couldn't for the life of me remember who sang The Lion Sleeps Tonight and never heard of Eye in the Sky either. maddening.
  19. 112/122 missed 2 apiece for New Orleans & Washington. New Orleans killed me because i couldn't think of anything that fit in the New Jersey - New York gap.
  20. even worse than that was Gonchar strolling into the offensive zone with impunity for his goal
  21. yeah well other than hitting .500 with 4 HR or something Hanley's just having a miserable week
  22. Varlamov has been piss poor so far eta: it's really just been a sloppy, weird game
  23. they really stole that one. Canucks really have to be deflated after what happened tonight.
