  1. i hope people realize if Braun were a Cub everyone would be wearing yarmulkes whenever their karate headbands made it into the wash
  2. holy s might as well do away with the goalies at this point
  3. being a top 20 hitter in your league at age 24 is hardly an indictment going forward TT, who in the NL besides Pujols would you expect to out-hit Braun? fwiw, i don't think being a -5 fielder is going to stick in the writers minds enough to significantly hinder his chances of winning an MVP. Keeping in mind he's a horrendous defender in LF, I don't think it's far fetched to find 10 guys. He didn't crack my MVP ballot last year. He didn't make yours either. because of a .335 OBP registered last year which he's already shown great strides in improving. i absolutely agree he's likely a future MVP. Jay Bruce and Upton are two others i'd lay pretty good odds for, too.
  4. 10? Hanley, Utley and maybe Wright are probably the only hitters i'd listen to arguments for
  5. 36/38 on the "'the' bands" couldn't for the life of me remember who sang The Lion Sleeps Tonight and never heard of Eye in the Sky either. maddening.
  6. 112/122 missed 2 apiece for New Orleans & Washington. New Orleans killed me because i couldn't think of anything that fit in the New Jersey - New York gap.
  7. even worse than that was Gonchar strolling into the offensive zone with impunity for his goal
  8. yeah well other than hitting .500 with 4 HR or something Hanley's just having a miserable week
  9. Varlamov has been piss poor so far eta: it's really just been a sloppy, weird game
  10. they really stole that one. Canucks really have to be deflated after what happened tonight.
  11. wow that was kind of a softy
  12. iirc, that happened when Kapler blew out his achilles in Toronto
  13. which is, an average baseball player
  14. i still wouldn't want Ibanez. he goes through streaks like this every year, a 3 week stretch where he hits out of his mind. and the 3 years or so the Phillies gave him, surrendering a 1st rounder? sick
  15. no DB has ever been drafted #1 2010 draft rankings: http://cfn.scout.com/2/856941.html
  16. i still can't get over it. you have a franchise LT in Oher and DT in Jerry fall in your laps at 20 and you opt for a luxury position in TE. now they're still stuck starting Jeff Backus and Chuck Darby. Delmas would be acceptable if they didn't already use 2nd rounders the last two years with Gerald Alexander and Bullocks. so now Paris Lenon stays put. a team ridden with pressing holes did virtually nothing to patch up any of them, save maybe QB. nasty.

  18. it rained yesterday, ha! shows what you know!
  19. good call what a bold stance to take, questioning his half-assed prediction after it's been proven wrong...
  20. http://bats.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/11/05/the-book-on-borass-clients/
  21. vitters' numbers scream "second coming of howie kendrick" which might be nice for a middle infielder, but not so much for a 3B. his numbers forbode a career progression stalled by injuries?
  22. the Ducks are down 2-0, but Hiller has really been the best player in the game. the Sharks are just manhandling Anaheim thru 2
  23. well i'm sure you'll love the Mike Mitchell pick
