  1. i liked this author's opinion on Frolik: Michael Frolik is endearing himself to his new team. Zero points and minus-3 in six games. I wonder if this is a ploy (here's my GM imagination running away from me again) - but a player this talented and in his third year (a contract year), what if you stuck him on the third/fourth line with zilch for power-play time? Then you sign him for two years at a rock-bottom price and he enters that magical fourth season. Budget restraints force you to clear out another player or two, you stick the low-paid Frolik on the top line and "voila", you have yourself a highly productive cheap forward. No?
  2. five, you forgot Lamb interesting that they list power as Jackson's best tool
  3. about damn time they lose a star pitcher too (death doesn't count)
  4. Hawks won the next game and the game after that he had a 3-pt game, his hangover seemed sort of immaterial, if you ask me
  5. we're still pretty firmly on the bubble, the UI result didn't have much bearing on our tourney chances
  6. Shaun Rogers isn't very good. Marinelli exiled Rogers because of effort level (replacing him with the woeful Chuck Darby), so i doubt he'd sign off on that move i still think Rogers can be a very productive role player, he's always been fantastic in getting to the QB
  7. are you talking to me? whoever the mopey anus character was, sniveling "even if we get Pujols we'll still just screw it up somehow" ugh
  8. i don't think Dodgers are in it, unless McCourt sells the team Kansas City really doesn't make any sense and Nationals blew their load on Werth already this is how i see it now, in order of likelihood: Cards - Cubs - Yankees - Rangers - Angels - Red Sox - Marlins No Blue Jays? why would he go to Toronto, of all places, and how are they going to have the wherewithal to outspend everybody? they don't really make sense as a serious potential suitor
  9. they had the 9th lowest payroll in baseball last year, at $62M, and they're going to conceivably more than double it in such short order?
  10. i don't think Dodgers are in it, unless McCourt sells the team Kansas City really doesn't make any sense and Nationals blew their load on Werth already this is how i see it now, in order of likelihood: Cards - Cubs - Yankees - Rangers - Angels - Red Sox - Marlins The Nationals still have serious money to burn if they want to, and adding Pujols with Harper and Strasburg would ultimately make them an ungodly amount of money in what's potentially a very big market for a really, really good baseball team. even in their best case scenario, when Harper & Strasburg, the Zimmermans start getting raises and approaching FA, retaining them is going to cause their payroll to balloon well out of check if you've already got $50M in two other players just doesn't make sense

  12. although, it's pretty strange to see UI fans ripping on another team's awkward white guy, forgetting about their own lurchy freak Mike Tisdale
  13. As I said, you'll have to explain that one to me. he looks like a bitch because he wears that fairy facemask, ok?
  14. hahaha great dunk
  15. thanks for not completely blowing that one, Michigan
  16. kinda bush, but i probably wouldn't object if Cooke got that treatment
  17. i really don't think he'll fall past 13
  18. prospects don't mean much to me when they're traded for young studs Liriano's just 27, (our) Chris Carpenter, for example, is just two years younger, and Casher just three
  19. damn, i really wonder how much we would have had to add to the Garza package to instead make Liriano a Cub i'd have thrown Vitters on top of it all and it would have been well worth it
  20. that's a tremendous understatement, this deal makes no sense for the Panthers, whatsoever and getting Salak too, what a total steal
  21. i've heard people complain about that and point to it as an example of his bad footwork, as if backpedaling is much different than grapevining or whatever. that said, he obviously gets into position before throwing and he's been hit pretty hard from the blind side since joining the bears. his footwork probably gives him a huge advantage in avoiding the rush, here's a good point made about it:
  22. honestly, Cutler is pretty unique in that he keeps his shoulders parallel to the LOS, i don't think there's a big difference of importance for either T position in respect to pass protection for the Bears
