  1. both teams have a nearly identical point differential there's not much of a gap in terms of talent between the teams Still...Drew Stanton? ...has a lot of talent around him on offense; Calvin & Burleson really made some terrific plays

  3. OMG A ROAD WIN
  4. wowowowow Calvin
  5. just once though, I would like us to sign a big latin american prospect, rather than buying ten shirts for two dollars at the salvation army http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-sports-in-haiku/StarlinCastro1.jpg
  6. Mike Williams & LeGarett Blount are positively destroying us why were neither of these two guys taken on the first day of the draft? (rhetorical question) edit: thanks, Morris for not once going to Blount the entire goal and 1 to go series
  7. the team that you beat and not the one that mercilessly bludgeoned your QB?
  8. i'm hoping we win at least 2 of the final 3, but if we don't Peterson/Prince would at least be a good consolation prize
  9. But Detroit isn't good against the run either. And they don't pass because they don't need to to beat them. Pretty much every coach would prefer to run if that is all it took to beat a team. Additionally, Detroit is a pass happy team with a lot of incompletions, so the clock isn't running very fast in their games. we're poor-ish against the run because our LBs are lousy, i already told you that our DL is great, our LB pretty bad and our secondary decent. all that's pretty intuitively obvious to anybody watching us the defense in general seems worse than it is mostly because we've played against a really tough schedule (opponents with a 95-74 combined record) and have committed too many penalties, though a part of that is probably subconscious bias
  10. i'm going to go out on a real shaky limb, and say yes
  11. do i really have to spell out common sense for you? if teams don't pass on you, you then play the run why do you suspect they don't pass very often?
  12. your argument is stupid; it's an obviously terrible unit but teams choose not to exploit that?
  13. the secondary or the entire defensive unit? we're also much improved since the start of the season, due mainly to C.C. (can't cover) Brown and Wade getting benched, and Levy getting healthy. imagine that.
  14. as is your reading comprehension
  15. awful secondary? we're 13th in the league for passing yards allowed, and quite a bit of that is due to poor pass D from the LB corps, namely Julian Peterson you're a year late with that declaration
  16. How do you separate Crabtree's performance from the QB's that have been throwing to him? he amassed a total of 1 yards yesterday despite Alex Smith throwing for 255 and 3 scores a polished, NFL-ready top 10 pick should distinguish himself from Josh Morgan and have asserted himself as the leading threat in an offense with no other palatable alternatives, he hasn't
  17. Because DHB sucks. Every time a Raider WR drops a pass, I think about how awesome it would be to have Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson and Michael Crabtree instead of Robert Gallery, JaMarcus Russell and DHB. Larry Fitzgerald. and you're still pining for Crabtree? he's been kinda gnarly his whole career so far. i think it's pretty fair to say both guys blow
  18. well, i sure picked a really good game to go to. obviously it was a great game, and we can use our tickets from yesterday to see NYG-MIN tonight on a side note, Rodgers is such a complete idiot. you have the first down, just slide. he almost got lit up earlier doing the same thing
  19. The author must have mistaken Garza for Hellickson. David Price
  20. they're trying to trade Garza to fit Hellickson in the rotation STOP TALKING ABOUT WELLS LIKE HE MATTERS IN THIS DISCUSSION
  21. Right, but Mallett and Warren not being on the team isn't Carr's fault, is it? Nor the fact that Cissoko left or the big time DB from last season that couldn't make grades (Dorsey?). It's certainly possible that some of the depth issues in the DB are bad b/c Carr didn't have a ton of 4 or 5 star players in his last few classes. But some of the holes are Rich Rod's creation (or failure to fill with guys that can pass NCAA eligibility requirements). Point is - the cupboard wasn't USC-full, but it wasn't bare either. There was a lot of talent when Rich Rod got to campus. On the whole, I'm not sure if there's more or less there now. Warren mistakenly left for the pros, Woolfolk busted his leg in pre-season, Turner got hurt and transferred, Emilien also jumped ship, Floyd got hurt, it's just been an amazing confluence of bad luck that all helped make the secondary the disaster it's been i do hate the 3-3-5 though, and the resulting lack of QB pressure we get from it, which is squarely RichRod's fault
  22. i fully understand what you're saying from a numbers standpoint, but from a scouting perspective there's little comparison between the two
