  1. so strange watching the Cubs when they aren't even trying to win.
  2. I have vague memories of a few of those happening in the Dusty years. Didn't Clement have one going in Puerto Rico that felt like he was getting shelled through 5? it seems to me he had a no-hitter but got pulled after 5 because he walked about 17 people Yeah, I was at that game, That was the one where the fly ball landed in the Bermuda triangle between Agon, Aramis and Alou.
  3. Looked like Smith had some great movement on his pitches.
  4. I could have sworn Javy was going to say "who?"
  5. So is Clifton a thing we should be legitimately excited about as a potential MLB starter?
  6. Gonzalez is so slow too, they would have nailed him. what a stupid way to lose a game. good thing it doesn't really matter
  7. When I was a kid the ASG was the coolest thing around. There was no inter-league play and little national TV coverage of baseball if you lived outside of a big city market -- it was a chance to see players and match ups you otherwise would never see. Now though, it's slightly more interesting for me than the NBA ASG, and I hate the NBA.
  8. Joe better get out there and yell at Jake, and quickly.
  9. They aren't dongs when the Cardinals hit them. They need a term that cements their inferiority Dings. Yes, point taken. Lol, premise stands though that they can be a very dangerous lineup
  10. The Cards to their credit do have a lot of dongs in their lineup with Jerko, Grill Chick, Piscotty, Moss, Carpenter, Etc. They don't have much else but they can explode pretty quickly.
  11. In this order: Bryant, Rizzo, Jake I'm thinking Rizzo -> Willson -> Bryant I don't think Matheny or Wainwright stoop low enough to throw at a pitcher if they do decide to throw at someone. Clint Hurdle says hello.
  12. Is anyone else a lunatic when watching games at home? My wife banished me to the basement when I watch the Cubs.
  13. yes yeah it was rhetorical :) I just posted that to marvel in it. Of course they might get dominated by McCallup Johnson or someone too.
  14. so in the last, what 10 days or so, the Cubs have faced Sale, King Felix and Jose Fernandez and won all three games?
  15. “Give our guys credit, that’s the kind of moment that propels you,” Maddon said. “We haven’t had a walk off at home yet.” What is he talking about? What about the Javy HR against Washington?
  16. Hawk is semi-tolerable tonight. Still it grates on my ears when he calls a hit a "sangel"
  17. Zobrist and Fowler have looked like April Zobrist and Fowler in this game.
  18. What's really cool is that we have Carl down there too and he's been pretty much lights out
  19. Looked like Lackey was giving him some crap between innings.
  20. I thought about that but when were the Brewers a kingdom?
  21. the problem with this poem is it speaks to fleeting empires that were built with great hubris but reduced to ashes. Im kinda hoping our empire lasts at least 6-10 years......
  22. Holliday just got beaned in the cheek and nose. Sounds like it just skimmed him but he had to leave the game
