    pretty much. rondon didn't hit him on purpose but with all the comments the night before and already two batters plunked, it's not much they can do there. That pitch was almost a strike. I bet he leaned into it on purpose to get Rondon thrown out. Notice how Matheny immediately came running out of the dugout? Just like in basketball using a flop to deke the ref into calling a 5th foul on a guy you want out of the game. As much as I despise the Cardinals, that took chutzpah and it almost worked.

    One thing I noticed, it looked like to me at least, and I haven't seen it mentioned, is that Coglan's kneecap hit Kang's kneecap. It was a fluke. Have seen this in basketball as well.

    It wasn't always smooth, but the Cubs went 7-4 on a critical 11-game trip (shoulda been 9-2) and 5-2 against STL and Pitt, I'll take that!

    Edited to make clear it was 2003, the San Juan game, stupid typo I put 20013. I am strongly considering it. It's about 45 minutes down I95 to the park for me. Any suggestions on tickets? Do you just buy through Stub Hub? I have not attended a Cubs game since that weird weird game against the Expos in San Juan, back in September 2003, when Clement was pitching and they lost on a weird popup that fell between three guys in Left Field.

    I am about 40 minutes outside of Philly, and it has been raining all day. one of those long overcast gray days where it never clears up.
