  1. This will be the smallest gap between seasons the Cubs have ever had though...if that helps. Also I'm guessing pitchers and catchers will report early this year because of the WBC. That has been the case in years past right? Twins have a report date of Feb 13, that's the only one I can find. Based on that, the offseason will last just 102 days. For a frame of reference, 102 days ago was July 23rd. The Cubs lost in Milwaukee 6-1, but won the next game with a bases loaded double by Rizzo. A week after that, the Cubs began their 11 game winning streak that basically clinched best record in NL Totally unrelated but I really hope Puerto Rico fields an infield of Arenado, Lindor, Correa and Javy.
  2. I mentioned this yesterday and it bears repeating.....I heard "We are Family" in the supermarket yesterday... last time a team down 3-1 came back to win it on the road. 1979 and the "We Are Family" Pirates.....
  3. That you've been sucked back to the 1970's? Maybe You do know the significance of that song in WS history right?
  4. This is totally happening: I walked into the supermarket after work and guess what was playing over the intercom? "We Are Family" Has to be a sign right?
  5. This stupid series is going to cost me a bottle of wine over a bet I stupidly made with a Dodgers fan I work with.
  6. Question: Do you swap Zalphabet onto the roster for Grimm to get another Lefty?
  7. anyone read lips? I wonder what Ross was saying to the batter there.
  8. Follow Steve Greenberg ‏@SLGreenberg Baez on why he celebrated a little extra after that last hit: "Their pitcher was staring at me for no reason." #Cub
  9. How much stock do you put into past post season success? Post season Kershaw hadn't lives up to regular season Kershaw standards. Hill still has sample size caution all over him. I don't buy the Kershaw post-season narrative -- he's still the best pitcher on the planet irregardless of some mediocre post season performances in his past. Hill I look at as a guy that could be very effective with that curve against some of the Cubs' younger hitters. Emphasis on could - he looks hittable today.
  10. Is anyone concerned about facing Kershaw and Hill in games 1-2 if the Cubs face the Dodgers in the NLCS?
  11. I wonder if Joe will put Almora in for Z for D. I was surprised he didn't last night.
  12. I'm pretty sure the first thing I noticed was how upset he was that the Cubs ended relationship with the Peoria Chiefs, and then they didn't include Peoria on that Cubs Caravan thing and maybe something about lack of WGN games. But he really reached his pinnacle when he openly wished for Addison Russell to fall flat on his face and have Samardzija prove how arrogant and wrong Theo was. I loved when Keith Law gave him horsefeathers for the Addison Russell thing. That guy is a sportswriter right? if so, that is shockingly unprofessional, but not surprising. The Peoria paper also had a writer that called an 18-year-old Eric Gordon "a steaming pile of 2 guard" for backing out of verbal to the Illini a few years back.
  13. This makes me not even want to watch baseball today. Just sickening.

  15. so I guess Theo is kind of a weirdo? "I used to follow people home. I just like being anonymous so much that I would follow people home because they didn't know who I was and I could watch them."
  16. What was the injury delay during the Scizzors at bat?
