    i think yankees fans would eat him alive, but that would be a nice destination otherwise. he could just concentrate on D, relax at the plate and let the talent flow, or not. it's not like they need an offensive star out in CF.

    wow, two of the biggest power slots are going to Murton and potentially Pie? with a noticeable lack of power from Pierre in CF? color me unimpressed. but hey, speed is worth more than power, so it's all good. :D

    I love to hate that cup caresser. if you need photographic evidence of that, it exists. cano and wang? could those two be more overrated? edmonds is worth far more, especially since we're talking about the Yankees, who could easily eat Edmonds's contract. i'd look more at talent level in that deal, since the yankees are in it (not dropping edmonds's value b/c of money due him). i hate edmonds, but he's very valuable, especially as a CF. edmonds did drop 140 OPS points last year, but when you're still well above .900, how much can you complain? there's a fairly large drop off between edmonds/griffey/jones and the rest of the pack in CF. ok, the edmonds love is making me sick. must. stop. now. :-&

    the problem with trading for Hall is that it's within the division. personally, i really like Hall even with his lack of plate discipline.

    I hate to overanalyze a simple statement like this, but does anyone else interpret this to mean that perhaps Jim doesn't know other teams' systems as well as he should? I heard the interview and the statement came in the context of evaluating Nolasco and Pinto, where the Cubs and Marlins had pretty much the same opinion/rating of the two. i think he was just trying to be complementary. You've been defending Hendry a lot lately...............are you sure you're feeling ok? :) haha, i'm trying to give him a fair shake. the neifi and rusch signings just really upset me. :lol:

    =D>=D>=D>=D>=D> in the interview Hendry did today (where he confirmed the Pierre trade was finalized) Cedeno was said to be getting significant time at 2B if Furcal was acquired (Neifi gets the rest at 2B). It was very obvious that Cedeno would not start over Neifi. The most he could hope for was a platoon situation where he got "signficant time." Of course Hendry threw in a bit about Neifi just loving to play for Dusty and he understood that his playing time wasn't guaranteed.
