  1. Wow, Jon Garland and Chris Young would be way overpaying That would be a bad, bad trade. The Sox should do it. I don't know much about Young howver Garland is a great sell high candidate.
  2. Ok we trade Walker, Cedeno, and Williams and get bact Michael Young? And I thought we overpaid for Pierre. No thank you. Why not just take that same package and offer it to Baltimore for Tejada straight up? The Cubs would have to get another player in the deal. Considering age and cost Young > Tejada
  3. I read somewhere Brooks fell in the draft beause he scored really low on the standard NFL intelligence test.
  4. Except that Wilson is 9 years younger. Plus all the Lincoln Park Trixies at Wrigley will enjoy is flowing golden locks. Honestly, he would be a good pick up for the Cubs as long as Mabry subs for him about once a week. I think you're getting Wrigley confused with Cell One Ball Park... :D It's been my experience that Wrigley girls are hot in a sorority girl kind of way and CellOne girls are hot in a stripper kind of way.

  6. I feel lied to, you'd think the owners would atleast increase the payroll by a few million. It's hard to complain about a 92m payroll for a market the size of St. Louis though.
  7. Interesting, well they've done an OK job so far...
  8. I didn't want to sign him at that kind of money however I will miss him. Since giving up home runs was his biggest problem Pac Bell should be a good fit. Good luck MattyMo!
  9. For his career, he only has 9 fewer games post-ASB, and has an OPS 18 points higher. He would be a great platoon option though, and his numbers against RHP aren't terrible. Yeah but 04 was is first everyday season and here's what you get... Pre-All Star .286/.378/.535 Post-All Star .235/.322/.453 It's only one season but that's his rep.
  10. I've read that a knock on him is he wears quicky as the season wears on. Therefore he might be a better platoon option.
  11. Can someone please get a hair joke out of the way? Thanks!
  12. The Cubs have far too much money not to do something more interesting.
  13. I'm not complaining but if everyone thinks the Cards are shown strike zone favoritism check out the NLCS. Bad calls work both ways.
  14. Yep...he's trying to make nice. He doesn't want to be viewed as a troublemaker, and the O's probably said "We'll trade you, but we need you to help us do it." When has something like that ever happpened in baseball? I really doubt he gets traded. "Sammy - void the extra year you'd get if traded - and it'll be a lot easier to trade you - We'll get something done." I think that situation is a lot different.

  16. Tejada is cooling off and he regrets his comments. I really doubt he gets traded now.
  17. Thank you for seeing that. I can deal with a lot of things, saying that MLB wants the Cards to win is not one of them. Touche
  18. About an hour ago, I was talking to a friend of mine who is a die hard Cards fan. He said, and I quote, "Matty Mo's biggest problem is he smokes too much weed". I thought for a moment that you were going to say the same thing. I've heard from my buddies in St. Louis too... that and he enjoys other, more powdery type drugs. That's quite an allegation. I thought so too, but they're Cards fans and I don't see why they'd make something like that up. We're all stinking liars - shhh 8-[
  19. Our pitching coach Dave Duncan is good at getting a veteran pitcher's mojo back hence I like the signing.
  20. For 2/2.9 - I think it's a good deal... Link
  21. I just called and asked him. His response? "Naw, that dude's just f#*&!@ fat." I'm sure Ray's mother thinks he's just big boned.

I thought for a moment that you were going to say the same thing. I take it baseball doesn't test for that? Well, in this case, it's the pot calling the kettle black. Not that I'm proud to admit it, but my buddy is almost as reliable as a lab when it comes to identifying users. I'm sure there have been plenty of times he's been wrong, but it really is a sick sixth sense with him. So, I'm guessing baseball doesn't test for it. If they did, according to him, most of the Cardinals team would be suspended right now. I'm pretty sure Burger King has a bad case of the munchies.
