  1. If he gets on at a .500 clip I could care less.
  2. I had a problem. It kept taking me to the premium upgrade page when I clicked on the non-premium link. Well, it worked, because I gave in and bought the upgrade.
  3. My mlb.tv is working just fine. Do you have premium? My 400k link keeps taking me to the premium upgrade page.
  4. Okay, so I signed up for Stickam since MLB.tv isn't working again, but I can't find the cubs game anywhere.
  5. Have any of you MLB.tv subscribers had an issue with the 400k link taking you to a premium upgrade page? It won't recognize the non-premium link.
  6. Did you check the system requirements for MLB.TV on your computer? If you have an outdated version, that might be the reason for the error. I just disabled WMP as my default player and it's working fine now. hanks for the advice.
  7. Can someone possibly help me out here. When I try to access MLB.tv I get an error message saying "Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file". Any ideas?
  8. For those of you who can, you might want to keep an eye on the DRays-Blue Jays game. Kazmir has 8 Ks through 3. The first 8 outs were strikeouts, then he induced a pop-up on an 0-2 count. He looks almost as good as Kerry did.
  9. Here's hoping we can get this one, because I think we'll have a great edge against Houston. They've gone from the Grapefruit league to Houston, and have yet to experience even cool weather. 7-2 sounds nice.
  10. Murton > Ichiro. We've discussed this before. :-)
  11. The pitcher hitting behind him must have been really, really bad.
  12. I'm curious as to his win/loss total and his E.R.A. Ken Well, of course those things are more dependent on outside factors, especially win/loss.....but I'll guess 21-7, 3.00. I just thought with Bill James speculating, we could do a little speculating as well.......
  13. I'll do a few, you do a few..... Matt Murton .312/.390/.480/.870 Is runner up in fan voting for final All-Star to Juan Pierre. Derrek Lee .288/.360/.515/.875 Struggles early on and never shows 2005 form. 28 HR. Rich Hill 215 IP 180 H 81 BB 235 K Starts All-Star game.
  14. Schmidt would be great, though I don't think he is a necessity. Most people seem to be thinking if Prior is healthy he will be a #4 or #5, which I don't really understand. Either Prior is not healthy, makes a couple of starts with poor results and gets re-shelved, or he recovers and is good to great. I don't see him starting 25 games with mediocre results. That said, I am not counting on a healthy season from Prior. Of course there is always the possiblity that Wood reenters the rotation mid-season if Dempster regains his form, but I'm not counting on that either. I think there is a good chance that the #2 we are looking for is going to be Carlos Zambrano.
  15. Have you seen what he is doing in winter ball? It's even worse.
  16. Interesting. I've always wondered if a lineup constructed like: OBP Power OBP Power OBP Power OBP Power Pitcher would be optimum.
  17. Jacque Jones, Sean Marshall and Jae Kuk Ryu/cash for Ervin Santana? Followed by Izturis, Epatt and Veal for Manny? Sign Lugo for SS. Rotation would be: Zambrano Santana Hill Prior/Miller Guzman/Cotts Lineup of Soriano Lugo Lee Manny ARam Murton Barrett Derosa
  18. Let me go on record as saying I think this is awful. It's starting to become clear that we are after 2nd tier players yet again. Mark DeRosa, Gil Meche and Julio Lugo do not turn a 66 win team into a contender.
  19. The Piniella quote about 3 starters tells me one thing : Big trade coming. Assuming Meche, Marquis and Batista our staff would be (once Prior is back): Zambrano Hill Prior Miller Meche Batista Marquis Marshall Guzman Marmol Aardsma Mateo Wuertz Ohman Howry Eyre Dempster Wood Granted, some of those guys should get more time at Iowa. However, I didn't even include guys like Ryu, Novoa, OMalley and Walrond who will almost certainly be in Iowa. Add them to the list of guys progressing up from AA, and we have a big time logjam. I expect us to get one big free agent hitter and then make a blockbuster.
  20. Exactly. How long have the rest of you been cub fans, anyway?
  21. I wonder how Lou felt about Lugo since he played for him at Tampa? The latest from Rosenthal Then where exactly are we going to spend all this money? Give Lugo 5/55???? I really think they're aiming for a .500 team. Lugo DeRosa Lee Ramirez Jones Murton Barrett Izturis Zambrano 2nd tier FA Hill Prior/Marshall/etc. Miller Yuck. Even if we get Schmidt...Yuck.
  22. I'd do it, but I'd use Hill instead of Prior. He insures that the deal gets done, and we can keep the higher ceiling player. Granted, we'll have to toss Guzman or a mediocre FA into the mix until Prior is ready to go...
  23. And if Colvin becomes a very good, Mark Kotsay type player, who produces for a long time, are you still going to call it a "huge risk", even if the players (some of whom some Cubs fans wanted) never developed into a star? The draft will always be a "Crapshoot" and it doesn't matter the rd. Albert Pujols lasted till the 13th rd. Oswalt and Piazza went further down in the draft, whereas we've seen players like Brien Taylor, Todd Van Poopell, Darren Dreifort become spectualr busts. So, "huge risk" or not, I like the pick, and I fully expect him to win over just about every body here, in the last few yrs. To be fair, Dreifort was wicked, he just got injured.
  24. The only problem with the Petco theory is that his splits aren't that different this year: OBP and slugging .378/.384 at home .369/.410 on the road I'd attribute it to just more of a down year (as his splits were pretty large last year) but I have no idea if he would rebound from that. Any chance that he was just being smart and adjusting to the park?
