  1. Where would Gonzalez play exactly? I have an original nomination......Adam Dunn!!! Seems like he would make a lot of sense (again). The Nats need pitching as always.
  2. IMHO Cameron would= the 2009 equivelant of Jeromy Burnitz I think Mike Cameron is quite a bit better than Burnitz with the glove and the bat. What's funny is that we're going to spend money on an "athletic" outfielder when we had a perfectly good 23 year old athletic centerfielder just a year ago... he should've gotten more of a chance to play regularly last year, but a hell of a lot of people didn't think he was perfectly good a year ago. Yeah, the Cubs have given Aaron Miles twice as many ABs this year as they gave Felix in '08. They've given Scales more ABs as well. That REALLY baffles me.
  3. No proposals for Dunn yet?
  4. Yeah, not knowing whether the payroll will stay as is or swing 30% in either direction kinda makes it pointless to speculate on trades and signings and such.
  5. Well, Fukudome actually walked, but the ump didnt see it that way.
  6. <--------- Starting to care again. BTW, Bobby Scales is 13 for his last 70. He doesn't walk or steal bases. Why is he in LF? I mean, this one REALLY confuses me.
  7. I won't be surprised at all if Hendry goes after Dan Uggla. The Marlins have Cris Cophlan ready to take over at 2nd and the team seemed to back up Hanley when Uggla called him out. That fills the hole at 2nd and gives Lou his "#5 hitter" He is a righty, though....
  8. Because he doesn't swing at many bad breaking balls. He is a good hitter who had horrible BABIP luck this year.
  9. Ryan Theriot's numbers are actually below the average SS this year. Factor in that the league average is weighed down by some defensive wizards and it is fair to call Ryan Theriot a hole. If you have a .715 OPS you need to have stellar defense at SS.
  10. 1-2-3 first. If they can piece any kind of offense together they should contend for a long time if this kid is their #3.
  11. 20 year-old top prospect Madison Bumgarner makes his first appearance for San Fransisco tonight. Easing him in by letting him face the Padres.
  12. In all fairness, we already have a hole at SS.
  13. Really? I guess I hadn't heard anything about his attitude. He has some nice peripherals, though.
  14. Alberto Callaspo for 2B! Marshall + T. Thomas to K.C. Theriot stays at SS until Castro is ready, if we did have the $$$ for Figgins, now we can allocate it elsewhere. Probably an average middle reliever!!!
  15. Selling high on Lilly isn't a bad idea, even though he's a pitcher who should age well and likely won't fetch what he's truly worth. I would see if K.C. would listen to Marshall + T. Thomas for Callaspo, who has some really nice peripherals at 2B (sub 1 K/BB) and wouldn't cost what the Kinslers (terrible home/road splits, I know) and Zobrists would, in cash or prospects. I really think we can live with another year of Theriot at SS and hope that Castro tears up the minors next year if we improve other areas. Soto HAS to have better luck next year in regard to LD%/BABIP, Lee seems to be fully recovered from his wrist problem and Soriano can't be worse (if he is, he won't have the leash he did this year, imo). Callaspo would add some offense while not costing the farm. If we get a full year from Aramis, there is no reason we couldn't be top 5 in runs again.
  16. He's a shortstop, when you OPS around .800 and steal SIXTY bases a year with good defense at SS, you're a superstar. And like I mentioned, there are reasons to believe he wouldn't have an enormous player cost. Do you think the leg injury will hamper him on the basepaths? What kind of package do you think it would take?
  17. What kind of package would you be willing to give up?
  18. He had 681 AB in 2007 and he put up a .775 OPS. He had a .750 OPS this year before going on the DL. He has never put up an .850 OPS and he has a leg injury. He is not a superstar, yet he is likely going to command the return that a superstar would.
  19. Someone please convince me that Jose Reyes is worth all that it would take to acquire him. He has a leg injury, makes $9 million next year and has a .772 career OPS.
