  1. Probably a theraband stretching program and video of the relievers he might be facing.
  2. What I want to know is how did he react to the Grandslam? He was just literally scraming when Barrett's bat hit the ball. Everybody knew it was gone when it hit it. I wish I could have heard the call, thats kool. XM has the espn feed =( That's a bummer. Granted my MLB Audio is a bit behind, it's a good assest to have while I be working, or unable to catch the game on TV (Stupid Comcast/WGN) I saw the first post on the granny as the pitch was being made so I am right there with you Coach.
  3. What I want to know is how did he react to the Grandslam? He was screaming like the rest of us as soon as Barrett hit it.
  4. Gotta love Ronnie After the wild pitch Ronnie say "Beautiful". And it is very beautiful.
  5. Ronnie is talking about how Barrett should stay in the 5 hole.
  6. And take that and shove it up your posterior Morgan.
  7. Ronny is going crazy!!!! He screamed as soon as Barrett hit it.
  8. Jones a hero tonight and his second hit as a Cub anyone?
  9. They havent said anything at all. They have been blasting the plate ump for not asking for help.
  10. I have no idea about what you guys are talking about with Morgan because I have the game on feed. No sense listening to a [expletive] moron when you dont have too.
  11. That was a good call by Dusty. Neifi has good numbers against the pitcher and had a bunch of hits. Now if he will just play Pagan in RF if Jones is sumping terribly 2 months into the season. To pinchhit Maybry a few days ago was a great call also. I guess Dusty knows he might get a contract extension so he is actualyl managing wiht his head screwed on. But folks it is early. What they said.
  12. Time for Jocke to break out the Ugly Woman treatment.
  13. So says MLB too. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060401&content_id=1380295&vkey=spt2006news&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  14. In the book, which I read three times BTW, it states that Baker is percieved in baseball as a manager who is to proud to learn from his mistakes. To me this is the strongest blow against Baker. LaRussa has a reason behind what he does and is managing 3 innings ahead from the 3rd on. Baker makes his decisions in the moment with little reguard for long term plans. At least that is my take on watching the two teams and my experience.
  15. Pitching coach. He is so good at it that no matter who the pitching coach is they will be virtually ignored. I also cant see him not working with pitchers making the pitching coaches job more difficult if he were a manager.
  16. Considering that teams are constantly scouting each other do you think this is a wanna be Peter Gammons trying to make something out of nothing?
  17. My wife who is an RN says not competely. In the bladder it is unless you have a bladder infection. Once it enters the last stretch of the journey it becomes populated quickly. It is warm and moist the perfect medium for bacteria.
  18. I just checked and there is not an extended pre-game show today on TV.
  19. I teach my pitchers let the baserunner worry about you and you worry about the hitter. It just isn't an easy thing for pitchers to do sometimes. Granted at my level runners have more of an effect but IMO concentration is what makes some pitchers great and others journeyman. Which brings in something I havent seen in the thread. The other end of the battery. If the catcher is good at reciving and can get the guys out going to second, that he should, the pitcher will focus more on the hitter and less on the runner. Someone like Piazza on the other hand will place all the stress of holding the runner on the pitcher. Which means a few more spots missed because of rushing to the plate or split concentration hanging a curve or a slider. Maddux is an exception, but since he is no longer in his prime the extra base he gives up hurts because he isnt automatic to get the next batter.
  20. Fox will probably be there to help with all the pitchers in camp.
  21. Every year I tell my wife I am done with them, and 5 min later I am back in front of the TV or Internet listening to Ron and Pat. Yes I support them, it just that I dont support management, because well... they dont really manage to manage.
  22. Count me in too. Look out 3rd place here come the 2006 Cubs!
  23. A few years ago there was a rule passed to keep the media teams from selling the rights to thier games and then writing them off at a loss. I believe now a team can only put so many games on its primary station and has to sell the others to "Other Outlets". It was aimed at the Braves, Yanks, Cubs, and Dodgers when Murdoch bought them.
  24. The run wouldn't count, would it? According to the rule book a player may be substituted if a player injures himself rounding the bases and can not continue. So 25 man roster and 30 round magazine you do the math
