    Give this draft 3 years before you call it a sucess or a flop. While Colvins swing has me worried about his transition to wood, even I want him to have a HOF career with the Cubs. Lets all back away from the sharp sticks and let player development do its job for a little while.

    Personally I liked the moving a batting screen in front of the umpires clubhouse door after he left the field. Then saying he went on ahead and called the league president to let him know what had happened.

    Keep up the good work Len. You and Bob are moving up there as a crew that I enjoy having on as I watch the game which puts you way ahead of the ESPN crews.

    I second the like of Len and Bob. I think they have hit a good stride working together. I still miss Stony though. But with all that said, they arent holding a candle to Ronny. He has been ripping a new one on Hendry, Baker, the coaches, and players for a good two weeks. He has been pointed sometimes but more often he has done it politely which is more damming in my view. The comments can not have been missed in the clubhouse or the front office.

    In reality I dont think this team is giving 100% every game. They are profesionals and know that they dont have the horses to run the race. Which is why Baker needs to go at the end of last year. He is supposed to be a great motivator, but I dont see players going out and going the 100%. I believe that a team will take on the personality of the manager, and that is why we are in this mess now. Meaning this season and playing at the level we are. As far as Gonzalez, ask Atl. for permission to talk to him. They can only say yes, no, or yes and if you hire him we get compensation.

    Its sad when you would rather see Zambrano as your DH. Personally let Murton DH. Even with his splits he has to be doing better than Mabry.

    I like the SD idea but considering they got rid of him to Texas because he was one of the malcontents in SD... Washington maybe?? Bowden is absolutely clueless and wouldnt have a problem with the defense as long as Nevin could hit the baseball real far. On second thought Hendry might do that deal as long as we got Guillen back from Washington. :roll:

    All my pitchers used the towel drill. It is widely used in college ball from my observations. When I worked for the Pirates AAA team the pitchers would be out around 2ish for a 7 start doing towel drills. So yea, I would say it is a widely spread practice.

    This reminds me of an outing a kid who pitched for me had. Last inning of a game with an 8 run lead. He had trouble finishing games out of the pen. Told him to relax, he had a 8 run lead to work with. Before we could close out the inning we had 3 errors and a couple of walks and win by one run.... Somedays you just know the baseball gods are laughing at you.

    The Cobs are like a three bag woman. You know, one bag for her, one bag for you and one bag for your dog so he'll still respect you in the morning. ROFL Thanks for the laugh. Its the best one I have had in a week.

    I would guess Theriot or Negron. There is no way Hendry would eat Ruschs money. Especially after he was called on it by Mr. Miles in public and other commentators.
