  1. Trust me, no you dont unless you enjoy exceptionaly low morals.
  2. I want to know did Z not pay attention while the infielders were taking grounders or did Cora just brain fart and swing one and catch Z? The first is Z's fault, the second is Coras. On the otherhand I am just ready to scream louder than normal about this year.
  3. Sorry guys, I'll sit and visit at the end of the season. From what the players are saying and this little mini-run in Milwaukee, Baker is safe provided he dosent try to steal any of Hendrys doughnuts. I believe Hendry will view this as the best course of action and will make him appear as a stable boss so he can have that reputation when he tries to bring in the next big hire. Just my two cents, feel free to ignore. My wife does all the time.
  4. It's funny to read this kind of thing. There's over 3000 registered members here at NSBB. Opinions vary amongst those people on nearly every subject, including young players. Naturally, when looking at the entire board, you'll see conflicting opinions. Tim, I am glad I could give you a laugh today. I really like the diversity of opinion on the board. It sometimes gives me a great way to look at something from a much different light. Sometimes it just makes me shake my head. I am sure I do the same to quite a few folks along the way.
  5. Reread the first couple of posts. Tejada <<< Cedeno. I just get so tired of folks on this board scream because the kids dont get a chance, in place of overpaid veterans, then as soon as the kids do get a chance and make a mistake the board is flooded with "this kid stinks" trade him for this overpriced veteran! It makes me feel like I am on a board with Dusty and Darren Baker at times.
  6. Spier is the IF coach. As the article in the Tribune today pointed out he is a "Hendry" guy. So lumping him in with the Baker boys isnt exactly fair. He is in all real respects a rookie folks. Ignore the arbitrary numbers that are established for ROY awards. This is his first year in everyday duty. It is a long grind, harder than you think. He is in some respects getting OJT as much anything else. He will hit well for a SS when all is said and done. Comparing him to ARod or Tejada isnt fair considering how long they have been playing compared to him. If you want to do an apples to apples comparison look at them through the first full everyday season they played. Even then it wont be in all things equal because I dont think a train wreck of a season the Cubs are having is condusive to playing better. Edited for a typo.
  7. I remember Sosa was an auto out with bases loaded for several years too. The one night in SD in 98-99? he accidently ran into a pitch and hit it a long, long way. After that night he hit .300 something with the bases loaded. The moral of the story is to not get your panties in a wad, let him blossom, (I believe he will), and enjoy the production he does give us while playing an improving SS.
  8. Anyone remember if the Cubs have gone back to back this year?
  9. Tell Z to have a seat Dusty!!! Or I will have Celine Dion come sing to you in the clubhouse before every game.
  10. Probably, but I haven't kept up. What are your areas of certification? K-8 Highly qualified K-6 and going to take the 7-8 content to become HQ there too.
  11. Pat talking about Z, " He has the most stamina of the Cubs pitchers. He can go 120, 130 easy." Pat hush, Dusty dosent need the encouragement! Ronny smells trouble.
  12. Dusty's on a mission to save his job, pitcher abuse be damned. Dude, you know he was just cruising tonight man.
  13. I was just thinking he should be able to go to 7 around 100 pitches. Williamson up o pitch the 8th with Ohman ready to go. But you are right, Dusty will let him go all 9 tonight.
  14. Pat "Murton spanking an RBI single to left!"
  15. Close... FC almost a DP. Run Scored Cubs 2-0 Capelan (sp) in to pitch
  16. Wait, there's a game going on? I've been listening to Pat and Ron talk about Leave it to Beaver for the last half inning or so. Oh wait, 2 runners on, they are back to talking about the game. Makes two of us then.
  17. It's a page an inning. We are pacing ourselves...
  18. Hello Vance. Any teaching positions in your parish?
