  1. Ron and Pat " The wind was definately a factor there."
  2. Nice, ducks on the pond with Murton up. Pat just said that this is a turning point.
  3. Huh? Did someone say something? Nope, I did but you can feel free to ignore them.
  4. Seriously, it is the patterns the Cubs have set this year that have drivven me crazy. Big inning and nothing else in the game. Or a great start and no offense. Its a lack of playing complete games that is driving us crazy.
  5. Sorry doing some measuring for building a new bookcase for the study. Ill make more comments for you to ignore :)
  6. Harrelson is an idiot. So take that statement for what it is worth.
  7. Sounds to me like someone may have already asked him about it. IE: someone from the Cubs has called his agent, ect. Not going on the field is a way to avoid looking the guy in the face and tipping anything you know.
  8. Geez, this is turning into a very public train wreck in the clubhouse if Williamson is saying those things. Williamson is gone soon in a bad deal sadly because Hendry will confuse him for a trainer that was truthful with him. :?
  9. Yea, so was Randy Meyers... Think it was the 98 season when he blew three big saves in a row at home. The last was on Randy Meyers day when they were giving away posters of him. The game was delayed for about 10 min after he blew that save from everyone in the OF giving him the posters back. Its hard to go out with the same intenisity when the team dosent give a rats rump as opposed to beliving you can win.
  10. I say Santo. I swear I heard him slip a profanity or two today before the mike was cut. It was much more than he!! from what I heard. You have to know at this point he is already told Hendry and MacPhail what a bunch of idiots they are for letting things get to this point.
  11. In OOTP I have had a run of 2007 to 2010 WS winners. But this was back in 5 in a solo league. Farnsy was the closer. Wood, Prior, Zambrano, and Cruz were the horses. Other than ARam, I had Choi at 1st, Kendall behind the plate, I cant remember who my middle IF was. But they were OBP guys with very good gloves. OF was homegrown for the most part. All three OF positions together posted 80 HR and 200 steals with a 350ish OBP years in that stretch. After the 2010 season the payroll went through the roof and I had to let position players go. I ran that solo league for 20 years and went back to the WS 5 times but never won it again. Prior and Wood had 10 Cy Youngs between them and Z had 2. Arent fantasy worlds sweet?
  12. Ne Hendry will do that at the end of the year after he turns the season around and gets the team withing 5 games of .500.
  13. My niece who is six and spending the night with us just came in and said, " Did the Cubs lose or lost tonight?" My wife following her in said, "Knowing them... both" Truth from the mouth of a babe and a babe.
  14. Because Murton and Cedeno and the younger pitchers need to learn that this is not the way it will be all the time. Zambrano needs to be protected. Prior will need protecteing as the season goes on. The message needs to be sent that half-way play isnt going to be tolerated, at anytime, in any measure. Thats why Dusty needs to go now.
  15. This team is going to kill Santo before the end of the year.
  16. Huh? They scored a few runs tonight and Z pitched a good game. That is what Ronnie was refering to as a "good game".
  17. Ronnie is talking about how the team finally showed up with Lee coming back. He is disapointed they havent responded before this.
  18. Back in the fall of 2003 I broke a BP bat on my workbench at home after game 7. I am really feeling guilty about that bat now...
  19. When was the last time Dempster was in a game that was even 2 runs down?
  20. Well you see dude, leftys aint supossed to hit lefties that good. And if Walk had walked he would have clogged the bases for Pierre man. Say did you know that since it is night and its cooler maybe thats why Walk was able to get that hit. :Sarcasm off:
  21. That's not necessarily saying that he's extending him, he's just giving him a chance to prove him self. Not that I agree with it but it's not a firm backing either. I'm hoping this is a ploy by Hendry to give Baker a false sense of security while we're working on finding a replacement so that he doesn't give up on his job and let the team go complete down the crapper but that isn't too far away at this point. Actually I am afraid that it isnt a ploy. Hendry is going to keep Dusty here and prove to everyone how smart he is by re-signing Dusty so he can run more of his horses, (and ponies), into the ground.
