  1. I hired you people to try to get a little track laid, not to jump around like a bunch of Kansas City *bleeps*! I'm sorry Mr. Taggart!!!
  2. Pat and Ron chatting about how the majority of the Cubs games are at home after the break. Then they quicky changed the subject.
  3. Whats the over/under for this thread not making 10 pages?
  4. On a Other Cubs note... Dontrelle Willis hit a granny tonight off of the Mets Lima.
  5. I care very much. It just that it is painful sometimes to watch/listen to the Cubs right now. I dont expect unicorns and faries to appear when Baker gets fired, but I do think it will be a weight off this teams sholders. New blood, new attitude, new appreciataion for OBP hopefully.
  6. I held Rothschild in high regard too until 2005. Rothschild is the pitching coach and I think people give Baker too much credit by criticizing his use of the pitchers. I think Baker doesn't know jack about pitching and pretty much relies on Pole and Rothschild. Rothschild has had two opportunities to leave the Cubs with Baker at the helm and has chosen to stay twice. That should tell you something. I've yet to read, hear or see anything to show that he is powerless and is at odds with Baker. You mean after all these years you think he'd stay if he was in constant philosophical battles with Baker? Just to play devils advocate with you on this. Say he stayed because he had developed friendships, in some ways a father figure, to the pitching staff. Hendry being a good friend and what not from what I have read and heard. Say he decided to stay despite the differences with Baker because he wanted to try and protect the pitchers? I dont have proof and it is a gut feeling as well as reading body language but I have had the impression that Baker and Rothschild dont get along. I would also say that Baker dosent let anything happen unless he says its ok. I can easily see Rothschild being told by Baker when and what Baker wants done. If your gut feeling is true, then why would Hendry say that Rothschild's job is safe and not use the perfect opportunity to get rid of him. Edited to fix typo. I meant to type Baker not Hendry in the original post. My screw up there and I appologize.

  8. With all the turnover in baseball if Davey Johnson was a premeier manger I'm pretty sure we hear his name more often I think there's some reasonss he's not in baseball right now. Davey isn't in baseball because he's a very abrasive person and rubs people the wrong way. He's a good manager, but FO types don't like him. I'm not sure of all the details, but he's been on the outs more for his personality rather than his abilities. Didn't Marge fire him because he lived in sin with his girlfriend? Yep, that and the fact that he wasnt impressed by her collection of Nazi stuff.
  9. So you are saying that if you were the Minister of Very Boring Things this game would be your first official act? A very cunning plan I must say!
  10. Hey, now that they have that left handed BP pitcher they should be hitting the first pitch everytime off a lefty shouldnt they?
  11. ARam fan you did a great job today. Thanks for filling in for Fred today.
  12. Nice job Marshall. Now go have a seat and enjoy watching the pen give up your W.
  13. A radio interview is not the place to have a tecnincal discussion about the art of hitting. It's the place to sound stupid and nervous I guess, then. :? We are going to have to disagree on this one. I didnt think for a radio interview he did that bad. He knows he is getting canned and he is being professional about it.

  15. Clines says, " Despite all that has gone on I have a really good feeling about the second half. I think we will start hitting and D Lee will get in a grove and everything will be alright."
  16. LOL Santo says, "Well at the start of the year we had a young team." Freudian slip?
  17. Dusty Quote #2 "They got most of thier hits with 2 outs and that is why they scored 4 or 5 of thier runs." BTW "Cedeno is stuggling big time and that is why Neffi is in."
  18. During the pregame show Dusty says, " You know if Prior hadnt given up the two walks before the hit by Berkman it would have been 1-0. " It will never sink in.
  19. Loosing is not misery. Loosing is good. I hope the Cubs loose that last few games before the ASB. Then, there will be no question on JH mind, he has to make a change. Then we finally can wave bye-dee-bye to Baker, Rothschild, Mathews, and Clines. The last thing I want is a 4 game winning streak going into the ASB. So, LOSE LOSE LOSE!!! you honestly can watch and wish them to lose? ummm. . . . let me see. . . . . . . . YES!!! I finally put on my bright new Cubs jersey out and about today because of all the talk of Dusty and his "coaches" possibly getting kicked out of town. I put it on, because I look foward to coaches who do not tell batters to be aggressive at the plate, and a manager that might actually play some kids to find out what we've got for next year. Coaches that instead of ruining Corey Patterson types, could teach him to flourish. We all know if Dusty stayed Nevin would play LF and you'd see Neifi, and Nevin over the likes of Walker and Murton. If we need another SP heck we might even see Hill back up here instead of deadweight Rusch taking a spot from a possible future Cubs starter. Now you tell me, if it means Dusty and his crew are gone. What is wrong with them loosing? When we get those guys outta here then I am going to bleed for every Cubs win, even if they don't matter this year. Because I feel like we'll finally be on the right track for next year!! I agree with the Brothers Giles on this one. Hendry still can muck it up in the time left this season by either keeping Baker or an interum hire. However if it means that the Cubs get beat down the next few days so that they have the opportunity stand tall next year, then bring on the beat-down.
  20. Jimy Williams took over after Leyland left Pitt. The Pirates were already bad and went right over the cliff. Not much Williams could do with that lineup but he never really did alot with what he had. Did the same with Houston although the personel were much better than what he had in Pitt. From what I gather he is a good "baseball" guy but is very average across the board. I get the impression that he would be very good with a veteran team that all you had to do was write out a lineup card and sit back. You know, alot like Baker.
