  1. And say we did end up pulling Gould and Tolleson for Dempster. I think that the two of them plus Jackson or Szczur and Lake and/or Barney gets our foot very much in the door. Totally.
  2. And-assuming his production will stay like this over the next two seasons-where are teams going to get that production for $1m per year?
  3. It's so great to see Mikey (and hopefully Clint, soon) swimming in the deep end of the pool.
  4. Yessssssssssssssss
  5. If Andre Villas Boas keeps talking [expletive] about Roman Abramovich, they're going to find him floating down the Thames.
  6. I'll bet a million dollars this doesn't happen. One horribly wrong statement followed by a right one. Ramos is constantly unreliable as a source, and he's spouted this kind of stuff before and it didn't go anywhere. FIFA wouldn't sanction it, as its a cross-federation tournament, and you'd have a hell of a time convincing club managers to be ok with their guys for a non sanctioned series of friendlies in the guise of a tourney, not to mention the players that would possibly skip it. Secondly, a 16 team tournament would be a bloodbath. CONMENBOL has 10 members, so are they going to basically send 8 teams? Or will all 10 participate? Where is CONCACAF going to find 4 teams other than Mexico, US, Panama and Honduras that aren't going to embarrass themselves against the likes of Brasil and Argentina and won't get stomped 8-0? Not to mention this is going to go up against Euro 2016? I want this to happen, would love it to happen, but there's no way this happens.
  7. They are a terribly run club. I guess if anyone can thrive under adversity it's Clint, but I'd rather him go to, you know, a sane, stable club that's not awash in racism and filled with guys like Gerrard and Carragher.
  8. I mostly follow the Americans, but the nice thing about not locking into a team right away is that you can enjoy each game, get a sense of each sides' style and identity and go from there.
  9. F Neymar. Show pony.
  10. Arsenal's a better fit for him for a bunch of reasons, but I'm not sure if their internal politics will allow them to move for a guy like Clint, lest he be seen as RVP's replacement.
  11. Their fans truly are awful. I can't think of a more loathsome fanbase.
  12. I was just coming here to post about this. I don't know if I like this. Non-CL, heading into a crap environment with half that fanbase gearing up to hate him because of the color of his passport before he even plays a game? On the other hand, it's Liverpool...the name still has some weight. And if he made a significant difference in that collection of mostly crap, Suarez, Reina and what's left of Gerrard winning the league in 3 years he would be a legend for all time.
  13. And pitchers careers are reborn. If I'm a once good pitcher or pitching prospect *Chris Volstad* who's hit the skids, I'm begging the Padres to give me a 1 year deal or for my team to trade me to them in hopes of some sucker giving me a 3 year deal the following. is the GM that gives chris volstad a 3 yr deal the same guy that calls to trade for castro and ends up taking reed johnson? Hell, as long as they're on the phone, right?
  14. The latest Big Soccer rumors is Liverpool, Spurs & New Castle with a Fulham price tag of 10 mil pounds. He's probably most valuable to Liverpool because of his versatility and American marketing appeal. I think he either goes to Arsenal (with RVP officially wanting out now) or stays at Fulham until the winter window. Spurs and especially Newcastle wont buy him (and he shouldn't want Newcastle if he's serious about CL ball). Liverpool is a steaming hot mess. Their fans are so, so delusional, and that side is nowhere near contending for a top 4 spot. Unless some side like Malaga or Milan show up with interest out of nowhere, he doesn't really have a lot of suitors that fit his stated wishes right now.
  15. Italy/Germany was entertaining, and I thought the final was good until Motta's hamstring went all Nomar.
  16. God, Sergio Busquets is an abhorrent person.
  17. When it was level, it was a decent game, and Di Natale had 2 really great chances at the start of the half. Now it's just a brutal dongwhipping.
  18. DAMMIT ITALY
  19. This will be the only time I'll ever support Italy.
  20. Ronaldo did it a few years ago for Man U against some Premier League speedbump, too. Mikey to Roma looks like a done deal.
  21. The images aren't showing, but I'm guessing this is Beckham's hissy fit/fight with the SJ mascot? He should have gotten a red for kicking the ball at the opponent when he was down, and a red for starting TWO fights after that.
  22. Yeah..."looks like"... HE KILL ALL GYPSIES IN MOSTAR Ceiling: Milosevic Needs To Improve: Marksmanship, Ability to burn villages could be more efficient.
  23. Yeah..."looks like"...
  24. Hell of a game, this one was. Balotelli was ridiculous. I really don't get why Germany looked like they were playing in quicksand. They looked like us in the Gold Cup last year. Kroos over Muller? Gomez is a straight donkey; Podolski looked incredibly meh, and I absolutely do not understand the Ozil love. He doesn't look like a particularly impressive playmaker. Low dicked around too much and paid the price. Now we get to watch a Spain/Italy snoozefest on Sunday. I think a fully firing Germany was the only chance to beat the Art Project
  25. What a shite game. How does CR7 not take that 4th PK?
