  1. Guys, Neymar kind of sucks.
  2. Great defensive play, really, although part of me wishes Clint would have sold out and headed it in. His injury probably has him more tentative that normal.
  3. Marcelo is such a giant dick
  4. Our other long national nightmare is about to end.
  5. Yup. Our long national nightmare is over.
  6. I'd add Herc to that list; his runs are very intelligent and he fights. He's got zero hold-up game. It's forward or bust. Oh, no doubt. Useless as a line leading guy. If we played him on the wing like Santos does, we'd better utilize him and his runs.
  7. Aaaaaaaaaaand that's why Mo Edu should never, ever get into the final third. Mikey's sequence there summed it up perfectly: Edu biffs a trap and falls over, Mikey picks it up, carries it forward, slots a perfect ball through=goal. Go away, Edu.
  8. I'd add Herc to that list; his runs are very intelligent and he fights.
  9. Halftime, I'd wager.
  10. Unless he's just shielding the back four, Maurice Edu is completely worthless. None of the CMs have shown up tonight. Welp 2-0. Rufio with a brace. EDIT: My bad. That was Thiago Silva. Gooch is done, btw. He's not international caliber anymore. Too slow, too poor with the ball at his feet.
  11. No doubt...the constant chatter about this during the game, and then the awkward questioning of Clint during the postgame was too much. As fans, we need to enjoy this cycle, because these two won't be around forever, and they're 1 & 1a all time for us.
  12. Jesus Scotland are horrible, and damn, we're playing well.
  13. Michael Bradley just whipped his balls out right there. What a strike.
  14. This is Klinsmann's depth chart: http://i49.tinypic.com/2hi8eh4.png
  15. I find Landon's recent comments about retirement troubling. Especially the whole bit about not having the fire like Clint. It's nothing new, but Landon has never understood how his over-thought, non alpha-male, non-cliche public comments only exacerbate the comparisons to Dempsey and reinforce his being perceived as soft. He's very much like LeBron with less of an ego. He doesn't fit into the traditional, alpha athlete persona that people like Michael Jordan conditioned fans into wanting from their best player. I think Landon's just setting the stage for leaving MLS after this season. He's "bored" and needs a new "challenge" to motivate MLS to lower the asking price. Also...tonight's lineup is garbage. We're playing Scotland and starting 4 central midfielders. And not that I'd ever root against our players, but JFT is not a #10, and is not an attacking mid, and he's not a fricking wing player in a 4-3-3 if that what we're trying. He's a useful role player, not a linchpin. I don't know what it's going to take for Juergen to ditch his Torres fetish.
  16. Clint and Jozy both out for tonight, meaning we have to wait four more days to see LD and CD on the field together.
  17. On the plus side, Geoff Cameron is finally going to get a real look, which is a very, very good thing. I don't get the Graham Zusi thing at all. That guy is crap. I don't rate Sacha, but come on.
  18. That's a garbage line. Disappointing.
  19. Theyre soccer Miami Heat. Incredible collection of talent, but in adversity, like against Dortmund in the league or in the Final today, they forget how to play together. Yep. They tightened up. They dominated but had no composure in front of goal. I think the home crowd worked against them. Seriously, Gomez's chance in the first half from what-10 yards? Has that ball come down yet?
  20. The best part was watching that choking choker Robben bottle the PK in extra time. The second best part was watching Mario Gomez ruin his career by blasting chance after golden chance over the bar. Felt bad for Schweinsteiger though..why anyone does that hesitation run up is beyond me. Drogba is a force. Seriously an amazing player. Bayern had every opportunity to bury them and showed themselves to be mentally weak.
  21. Holy god, just saw this. What a rip.
  22. Sacha played like garbage against Italy, and Juergen doesn't rate him to begin with, so I get that one. Castillo has absolutely no business on a WCQ roster, ever ever ever, and ditto for Morales. Does he have any first team minutes this time around at least? He's a defender in the Primera, which in and of itself is an oxymoron. Lichaj needs to be there. Gooch and Jozy will surely be added on, and we have got to find a better CB than Goodson at some point in the next year. And Timothy Chandler can absolutely go [expletive] himself. He's dead to me as far as US players are concerned.
  23. He also would have fought Mario Balotelli on his way out had the police not intervened.
  24. That's just unfair
  25. Citeh outshot QPR 44-3. 44-3! 19-0 in corners. 81% possession! Christ. That's madness. QPR played a hell of a game; they absolutely deserved to stay up based on their defending today alone. Paddy Kenny may have absolutely crapped himself on the 1st goal, but more than made up for it in the 2nd half.
