  1. You have to give Detroit credit. They completely maximized the advantages they had and managed to completely disrupt everything the Hawks have tried.
  2. They're just in total, total disarray.
  3. This PP is going to make or break the series.
  4. It's not going to happen. I've seen enough soccer and hockey; this is what it looks like when a talented team that hasn't seen any adversity runs into it. They press, get frustrated and totally get away from what made them successful. Everything Detroit is doing is working. Chicago isn't getting any favorable bounces, and they're just sort of snatching at their chances when they get them instead of finishing. Unless someone makes a brilliant individual play, this is going back to Chicago 3-1.
  5. Playing like Vancouver isn't just about composure. It's also about guys underachieving, playing tight and not getting much luck. We're checking a lot of those boxes.
  6. This is why nobody should have wanted Detroit.
  7. Weird. Didn't see that coming.
  8. Every league needs a villain. I for one welcome the $100m franchise fee.
  9. I think I read somewhere that his Real Madrid buyout is prohibitively high until next offseason.
  10. That's been coming. Detroit looks a lot quicker in general tonight.
  11. Did Kane eat some tainted lasagne? He looks terrible.
  12. Real Madrid fans would have been disappointed with anything other than 3 straight La Ligas and Champions Leagues. Their roster is a mix of really talented players and veteran clubhouse lawyers.
  13. Real Madrid. I think they throw stupid money and maybe a player at Spurs.
  14. It would have been nice to see Arsenal having to respond to a 1st half Spurs goal; unfortunately Andre Marriner had a terrible, terrible day at the office. AVB outthought himself by pulling Clint (good in the air) for Defoe (member of the lollipop guild). Spurs lost all their attacking momentum and had to rely on Bale pulling one out again. Oh well. Thus ends a aggravating year of following Spurs.
  15. I really don't believe we'll head into the qualifiers without Landon. The "week to week" crap that JK was babbling on about would seem to me be about JK giving himself an out.
  16. No. No it won't.
  17. Uh, what? Based on what? Are there greater injury rates for NBA players playing for their national teams than I'm aware of? Because I'm pretty sure you're just meatballin' right now. He's statistically more likely to get hurt washing his car or slipping in the shower. There's obviously a greater risk playing in practice/games with that level of intensity than private workouts. People get hurt far more often there than in the offseason. If you disregard the medical standard for ACL recoveries, then you're right. Otherwise, your logic is bad and you should feel bad. Yeah I bet the medical standard says play in absolutely unnecessary games when you get could the very same thing in the preseason and lessen your chance of reinjury or a new injury. Sure. Preseason games are glorified practices with the intensity of a game of bocce ball at a retirement home.

  19. You could structure that sentence the same way about him leaving his house, or eating at restaurants, or playing XBox or literally any other non-basketball related activity.
  20. I don't even see a point you are making here. He has all season to get into shape. He has 6 months of games to get ready for what really matters - the '14 NBA playoffs. No reason to risk playing with Team USA. Except that every single medical evaluation of ACL rehab involves playing in competitive games to break through the mental barrier of trusting the ligament and breaking scar tissue. Him playing for the national team allows him to get through that crap during non-meaningful games, thereby allowing him to be in better form when the NBA season starts. This isn't hard.

  22. If you're trying to make an argument for what's essentially club vs country (basketball version), then I guess it's a valid argument, but if you're simply worrying about him randomly getting hurt, then you're nuts. He could contract Lassa fever in Brasil. He could get hit by a bus. He could decide he wants to sell his possessions and live in Tibet, and those would all be as random as him getting hurt playing 17 minutes a game for the US this summer. If your point is about his contractual value to the Bulls, then one could make the counter argument that you'd rather he go through the "trusting your nee" part of rehab with the national team as opposed to on your dime, during games for your club.
  23. He isn't going to injure his nee because he had previously hurt it. Its healed. Let him play Team USA, Rucker Park, whatever, so long as he's ready in November.
  24. That's Miami ball.
