If the Bulls want to maybe compete in any of these remaining games, they should probably stop throwing the ball away every 3rd trip.

I don't necessarily disagree with the bolded part but I'm trying to recall a golden age when basketball officiating was awesome. I've been fed up with basketball officiating at both the NCAA and NBA level for a long time now. It is never consistent. You might be right. It's sucked on both levels ever since I could remember.

Clearly that ref was conspiring to sabotage a potential Bulls comeback. Point me to where I said the refs caused the Bulls to lose. That post was just screaming implications when I read it. Maybe you didn't intend that meaning but it looked that way to me. Nah, they got their asses handed to them. My only implication is that NBA officiating in general is terrible, and the fact that this guy is an official working playoff games is inexplicable.

I think a lot of what was shown on TV was after he was tossed. I'm sure he was bitching prior, but he was on the other side of the court and it sounded pretty quiet on the feed. If he got tossed for cussing him out, it either happened 10 seconds before the T was called, or Foster's got cyborg ears. But my point is more the disparity on what was being called what. Noah got tossed, probably rightfully, for yelling at him from 5 feet away (I'm sure he was yelling prior to that). Gibson at some point I'm sure said something to warrant it. But Chalmers wrapping his arm around Noah's neck? LeBrons little passive aggressive bitch punch? I find it hard to believe that if the roles were reversed and Noah tossed that little punch at James after a play, the calls would have been the same. If you're going to let a team play that physically but toss guys for getting pissed and yelling, it's a little skewed. I woudn't have wanted James kicked out for it, but certainly that's worse than Noah yelling or whatever Robinson said going to that timeout, right?

Taj got crushed under the hoop with no call, and then got a shot goaltended with no call the next trip down. Then Miami comes down, Foster calls a [expletive] foul on Butler, I think, and Noah, who was standing on the bench, started yelling at Foster. Then about 30 seconds later Taj was talking to Foster while Allen was shooting FTs, walked away, said something else, and then after a 5 second beat Foster (who is 30 feet away) tossed him. Then Taj lost his [expletive] and had to be more or less dragged off the bench into the tunnel. Foster also T'd up Nate early on while Nate was talking to Noah and heading to the huddle for no apparent reason, which pissed me right off. Just to sum up: Walking to huddle after timeout=technical. Yelling at ref from the bench, probably swearing=ejection Being 30 feet away 10 seconds after talking to a ref (I'm sure he was swearing, but he was walking away)=ejection. Horsecollaring another player trying to set a pick=technical Throwing a punch (weak as it was, that was exactly what it was. A punch. Closed fist)=technical. Shoulder checking someone into the bench=technical

No, they didn't cause the Bulls to get their ass kicked, but they went from calling the game fairly well to being 100000% out of control in the second half. Those were obvious, clearly blown calls, Foster a ref that's notorious for that kind of [expletive], and it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see Noah and Taj now suspended because they don't do their jobs properly. That said, the Bulls let it all get to them and they collectively lost their composure. Whatever. One way or another they weren't going to win this game. Split the home games and take your chances from there.

Lets all keep in mind that the ref calling all these T's is one of the guys that was fixing games with Donaghy. I'm not even surprised in the least bit that he tossed Gibson or Noah. What a piece of [expletive] the NBA is sometimes..

Aside from Chivas being right up there with the Marlins as just the worst, it's probably because he's fricking made of glass. Perpetually injured.

Deuce is benching it today. Balls. Deserved, based on the Southampton game, but balls nonetheless. I've watched a bunch of Tottenham this year but maybe somebody like soccer10k who's watched/follower more than me will disagree with this: there's no way a bad game vs Southampton means Lewis Holtby, let alone Adebayor deserve the nod over Deuce. First, Holtby has done nothing. Second, Adebayor is god awful. Clint should start over those guys based on production alone. Clint plays really, really well against Chelsea. Always has. I think AVB is over-thinking this one. AVB does that. I'm not surprised he's doing that in a must win game on the road against his old club. Holtby and Adebayor both suck, in my opinion. Siggy and Clint should be in there instead.

How dare you imply that the kit man and the tea lady died! Be more specific next time instead of just assuming that anyone in the soccer thread just automatically knows that there are XI players in a starting lineup. Who could possibly just know that? It would take, like 11 seconds of research.

When Kenny Cooper (who had spent some time with the United youth sides) broke his leg playing for FC Dallas, Sir Alex personally sent flowers and a note. Same thing with Specs when he hurt his hip. He might have been an amazingly difficult pain in the ass to play for day in and day out, and was certainly hard on his senior players, but the man took care to remember and care about every single player that ever played for the club.

Futbol sure does lend itself to some serious crazy talk. I hear what you're saying, but Wolfie isn't wrong. Fergie is United. He built that hot mess up into one of the top 5 clubs in the world; he's had total control over their transfer and youth policies, and being there nearly 3 decades is some pretty unusual stability in sports, to say nothing of soccer. Given how United are debt-leveraged and what not, replacing Fergie given all that will probably be much, much harder than replacing 8 players would have been in 1958.

8 players died. Edit: That's not to say the survivors were the regular starters, I have no idea. It was their entire 1st team in the crash. They finished the year with reserve, youth and loaned players.

Oh god please let United hire Mourinho, if for no other reason than to trigger the avalanche of hate from the Chelsea fans. That said, it'll probably be Moyes. Also, Spurs need to win today and Clint needs to play a strong game.

Asik certainly was worth that to the Bulls and every other team in the NBA. We'll see what Robinson gets in free agency but just because he plays the same position as Rose doesn't mean he's worthless. It's not like a) he wouldn't provide depth and bench scoring and b) he wouldn't be able to play alongside Rose for stretches. Honestly, there's no way we'll be able to get Robinson back. KC Johnson said the same this morning on the radio. Unless he's ok with playing for close to the minimum, there's just no way with the way the Bulls salary is structured. Yeah, the cap situation is pretty dire and Reinsdorf has shown no interest in crossing the luxury tax threshold. I think he's said that he'll exceed that threshold for a winner. If they take the Heat to 6 or 7 or somehow find a way to advance, that could be a factor
