How was that not even a yellow? Terrible decision. If it's a foul in the box, it's usually a yellow. If someone gets kicked in the chest, it's usually a red.

This. If Barca were involved the game would be played between the center circle and ten yards off the D, with eleventy million lateral short passes. An EPL team would just be giving the ball away constantly downfield. The Bund is just fun to watch. These guys are seeing passes and angles that nobody in England can conceive of. And Jesus Christ. If Bayern want to win they might need to sub off Robben for a guy who isn't suddenly clueless in front of goal.

If Robben has a breakaway in a final, bet on him screwing up somehow. And I'm not sure how the normally incompetent Fire managed to score Magee for a guy who hasn't played in a year. They didn't know who to ask for, then someone was like, "hey, isn't their third string keeper, Mike Magee, from Chicago? " never realizing he's another classic, late-blooming MLS, American goal scorer and that game at keeper was a one-time thing. So blind luck, really. Yeah, a cursory check tell me Magee actually wanted and asked to go back to Chicago for family reasons. So no credit for FC Boring.

Definitely. I guess the ref didn't want to wreck the game 20 minutes in, but that was intentional. And Arjen Robben is the biggest big game bottler in the history of big game bottlers

I'm looking forward to the beginning stages of Neymar being exposed, culminating in an amazing crapfest in 2014. Also, go Dortmund. That Robben chart from the Grantland preview was hysterical.

this is a choke, plain and simple. they can't skate, their passing is all over the place, they can't control their sticks (give me a [expletive] break toews), and they can't keep their composure. they got caught off guard in game 2, couldn't quite pull it together in game 3, and now they're in straight panic mode. the only time I've ever seen them play like this was game 1 of the Vancouver series in the cup year. they're locked up, like they have no idea what to do. 1 series win in 3 years since the cup. the grace period is over. what a massive disappointment. not going to be watching game 5. This is all on point. They're completely rattled.

Toews is the guy you should be aggravated with. He did nothing in the first series. Kane bossed that one, at least, and has at least been on the scoresheet against Detroit. Toews has allowed Detroit to completely take him out of the series.
