  1. Don't forget Premium: http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=32863
  2. Ronny vs RHP: 338/355/469/824 (254 OBP vs LHP) Murton vs LHP: 375/444/571/1016 (298 OBP vs RHP) Either would work fine at the top of the order, provided the opposing pitcher is taken into consideration.
  3. Saw the title, thought you were barking instructions.
  4. Is it illegal in Illinois for Walker and Nevin to play at the same time?
  5. I'm really sick of the "old school" crap too. Many in baseball wonder why they are losing all of the premium athletes to other sports, and that's partly why. Christ, if every other sport stayed "old school", nobody in the NFL would be wearing real helmets with facemasks and, well, the NBA would still suck but at least they would shoot free throws underhand and wear shorts that show off their stuff. Baseball keeps plodding along, too stubborn to change. Put your quick guys at the top, even if they can't get on base. Play the guys who've been there, even if they've sucked doing it. Ignore facts, even when they prove your experienced eyes wrong. Ozzie can kiss my butt.
  6. Good news, hope he sticks around for a while.
  7. I showed the stats. Get out of denile. You picked and chose numbers to represent your argument. That is not showing the stats. What I did was equivalent to a prosecutor using the murder weapon, video tape of the crime and confession as evidence for a murder conviction. What you did was the equivalent of anyone else saying Corey would be hitting 345 right now if he struck out less.
  8. Josh is pretty good, according to this. Jeremy: http://unfospreys.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/papelbon_jeremy00.html I thought there was a scouting report posted in the draft thread, but I can't find it right now.
  9. Who wins in a brawl? My money's on Texas.
  10. Cubs win, 6-1. Carlos Zambrano tears apart Lance Berkman limb by limb in the heat of the battle and eats his heart on the mound. Berkman's right leg hits a solo shot in his next AB.

  12. Funny, I know of a place in Chicago with walls covered in ivy where he would be treated like royalty.
  13. They're gamers!
  14. He doesn't suck. He 4-hit the Padres last year.
  15. There's plenty of time (and other posters who agree with you) to trash ND without bringing it into a Transactions thread. I wasn't (overly) trashing Notre Dame. I was stating my opinion that his football stock will decline after this season when ND's offense comes back down to Earth... or when Paul Poszluzny breaks his face in Week 2 His own or Samaladalamala's?
  16. I didn't know we could make trades with the independent leagues. Enrique's in the Red Sox system. Currently sucking at AAA.
  17. If I were to make a list, those 2 would be very near the top.
  18. who's back? Shady's back, tell a friend.
  19. That's quite likely. Edit -- in reference to you being the only one who thinks that.
  20. When discussing double plays, perhaps it would help to understand the rate at which players hit into double plays. I don't know how easy it is to get those numbers, but is it possible that if the rate were low enough that making contact proved to be better? A fielder's choice is also a possiblity. If the batter makes contact and the out is recorded at 2nd, but the end result is a much quicker player on 1st, is that better than a K? As a general rule, I think there is too much emphasis being put on the strikeout, but how much of that is deserved? I don't know, just asking.
  21. Ron, get a haircut (or fix whatever it is about your hair that's causing them to suck)!
  22. Finally someone who accepts it for what it is. Now, I just proved my original point pages back that Elia is getting too much credit and Cubs coaching is getting too much blame because he hasn't made any big improvements as a hitter; he's just slightly improved to mediocrity and started going for bunts and infield hits more and possibly refined some of his running techniques or workouts to increase baserunning ability and speed. Are you actually reading this thread?
  23. Replace "Long" with "Dumb" and one of the letters in "Shot", and I think you've got something.
