  1. I believe Bruce was the last to comment on it. He was very adamant that Wood's NTC would not be waived. Bruce probably knows more about it than you or me.
  2. Yeah, definitely... ...hahahahahahaha, yeah right! They'll probably bring back Enrique Wilson and Marquis Grissom in a futile attempt to add a spark to the offense. Stick him in CF and see if he's got anything left. That move actually wouldn't bother me right now.
  3. I'm pretty sure (in fact, I'm 100% sure) that players with no-trade clauses routinely accept trades. Indeed, if some team was willing to pick up Wood's $13 million option as a condition to a trade, I'd be shocked if he didn't accept it. Acting like there is absolutely no chance that Wood will be traded is more naive than ignoring his NTC. It's been widely reported that Wood's NTC is exactly that, and he would not waive it.
  4. I've been away a while. Is Guzman really sitting in the bullpen right now? Yes. Luckily, he's available to come in today after the first 8 hitters put balls down Kenmore.
  5. I think the only way Crawford remains in a corner OF position is if he stays with Tampa. I see the Cubs showing interest in Crawford as a sign they feel Pie won't be quite ready next year, and they no longer have an intention of bringing Pierre back. Too bad Jim didn't look to Tampa for that speedy leadoff guy before dumping everyone and their brother in Miami. I would welcome Crawford, especially how he'll still be making less than Pierre for a few years and will easily outproduce him.
  6. He was big, but he became colossal. http://www.homeruncards.com/imagesrc/mcgwire87tp.jpghttp://bostondirtdogs.boston.com/Headline_Archives/MM_MaY_2.15.jpg
  7. I keep tuning in with the hopes that everything on the internet is wrong and they are actually good.
  8. However, since Rusch only gives up fly balls, maybe we should use 4 outfielders. Good strategy if 2 can play in the bleachers and 1 on Waveland.
  9. The part that kills me is that Murton has a lot more experience than Freddie. Not to mention more success...
  10. Because the team sucks and is hopeless is exactly the reason he shouldn't sit. So the kid has struggled against righties. What's the best way for him to get better, watching Freddie Bynum give it a try?
  11. This is being discussed in the "Zambrano..." thread. viewtopic.php?t=32907 http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=32907
  12. But the important thing to remember is Dusty doesn't have any sort of unjustified infatuation with veterans and he treats young players fairly. That's the part I don't get - Bynum isn't that much more a vet than Murton, is he? It must be the speed thing. Whatever, its not like any of this matters any longer. What a waste. Games played: Murton - 113 Freddie - 43 ABs: Murton - 341 Freddie - 67 OPS: Murton - 793 Freddie - 693
  13. Frank Thomas was 5'11", 205 lbs when he was born.
  14. =D> I've said it before, I'll say it again: Ozzie can kiss my butt.
  15. Still refusing to watch the games, Dusty? GLENDON RUSCH IS NOT GOOD. Cubs win, 13-11.
  16. Waveland would be better.
  17. Walker, Barrett, Prior, Wood, Maddux, and....... Aramis. The other day when Dusty was on the Hot List, Brian Kenny asked when the real Juan Pierre would show up. Dusty immediately threw Aramis's name out there.
  18. Me too, but inevitably I open the thread and experience more pain than just that of knowing Fat Glen's still with us.
  19. "Go that way really fast. If something gets in your way, turn."
  20. Hopefully he'll have the same success as another #22 that pitched for the Jaxx for six games in 2002. But won't get traded like a certain ace pitcher #22 with the Jaxx last season. :( Unless it's for a #24 from the Marlins or #13 from the Yankees. Heck, I'd settle for a #53 from the Phillies.
  21. I'm not sure the Royals could top that.
  22. Psssst, DB. Murton hasn't been used yet and is 3/4 against Lidge.
