  1. It had me scratching my head too. Not a smart move.
  2. 2003-2005: 5 starts, 3-0, 1.88 ERA, .196 BAA Not too shabby.
  3. I knew Aramis was having a really good month, but I finally looked up the numbers. Wow. July: 330/408/739/1146
  4. D-Backs 97438, Cubs 1 Don't let the sweep fool ya, this team still sucks.
  5. His full quote is pretty much nothing but a denial -- "I heard that about a month ago, but other than that, no".
  6. Need to change my vote. I checked out gatewayredbirds and joined up. Good site.
  7. The Orioles FO and ownership need to have their heads examined. They had Roy Oswalt in their laps and they screwed it up. I would be pissed if I were an Oriole fan. Wow.
  8. Yeesh, my quarter says vote Nirvana.
  9. Supposedly Maddux wants nothing to do with the east coast. Or the AL.
  10. Tough call, but I went Pie. Hard to go wrong with a 21yo at AAA even though Gallagher seems to keep getting better by leaps and bounds.
  11. Unless they also have a Tejada for Ensberg and pitching deal in the works. This may all be the Rocket's doing! If that's Ensberg and Oswalt, then more power to them.
  12. Now that George made a big splash by adding Abreu, what are the BoSox going to do to counter? I keep hearing rumblings of a 3-4 team deal possibly involving Lowell and Loretta. Are they counting on Wells and Clement coming back strong, or do they make a play for pitching? Bullpen help maybe? If they move Lowell, are they targeting a 1B to move Youkilis to 3B? It's been relatively quiet on their front, but I don't expect Theo to just sit still. I have to believe they are going to strike big later tonight or sometime tomorrow.
  13. Ted, I guess you're not in the camp that believes the Cubs can go 50-10 and win a post-season berth. Hoops Always the pessimist, Hoops? I'd count on 55-5.
  14. Seems odd considering they still have Ensberg and just added Huff.
  15. Maybe we should go out and get Abreu, Soriano, Tejada, and Schmidt to get everything else set in motion.
  16. You think Willie Bloomquist is bad? Look up Neifi's numbers.
  17. As many as he wants to be.
  18. Clearly, he decided to go after more than one heckler. ;) Also, in past games where the weather was like this (heat warning today!), typically players from the Cubs come out with hoses and use them on the fans in the bleachers. It's a surprisingly good way to cool down. I doubt there were many complaints.
  19. Where did you see that? If that's true Baltimore is not smart. It was mentioned on ESPN News by Buster Olney an hour ago that the Angels have offered Ervin Santana and Aybar for Tejada, and that the Orioles are considering it. They should take it. I probably would.
  20. Sabbath, schmabbath. We are the champions, my friend.
  21. I have become content with the realization that Greg Maddux will finish out the season and begin next year as our #3.
