  1. Fine with me if Murton stays in RF. Although I'd prefer Soriano in RF and Murton in LF.

  3. ARod and Jeter have always been in different leagues.
  4. Cincy has 3 catchers. I remember hearing their announcers bitching about it on XM. Well, Cincy doesn't count, because of the bolded part. Josh Hamilton Don Knotts
  5. I guess I like food too much. I didn't think it was funny at all.
  6. This situation isn't similar to Borowski. Joe was actually getting his velocity and control back to normal levels. Wade isn't improving at all.
  7. Sorry, but I'm getting a little thrown off by these two stats....whats the difference here? If you lost 2 in a row, that's not one in a row, but you've still lost your previous game. Plus Fred likes to make up numbers to see if anyone's still reading.
  8. If by worst you mean BEST! :P No, it's bad. I actually like a lot of hair metal. A couple years back I burned a 2 vol. hair metal compilation that I listened to quite a lot but Cherry Pie just grated and I kept skipping past it. It was the only song that annoyed me enough to consistently skip it. Even as kitsch it's hard to stomach. I don't know.. I still find it to be entertaining every now and then. I wouldn't ever listen to it daily, it's like Nirvana. If it comes on on the radio, I'll listen to it, but if it's on my playlist, I'm gonna skip over it. Comparing Nirvana to the likes of Warrant? Harsh. Yeah, definitely not a big fan of Nirvana. I have some of their stuff, but I can really only listen to them when they come on the radio. Nirvana>>>>>>>>>>Warrant You missed a few >'s, and I'm by no means a Nirvana fan.
  9. I didn't see the entire game, but that was my impression as well. There were 2 pitches that I remember where even my wife asked what was wrong with the ump. There was also 1 Maddux pitch the next half inning that I felt the ump was giving back to us. Other than that, I didn't see much of a problem.
  10. Is this the 8th or 9th game this year where the ump had a bad strikezone? Yes, and it only impacts the Cubs.
  11. He's putting up some awfully pretty numbers so far this year.
  12. Over the course of the season things tend to even out but as far as a single game goes, luck can play a pretty large factor. Do you disagree? Yes, luck plays a part in the game. No, the Cubs didn't lose yesterday because of bad luck. Correct, it was because they picked high winds day at the ball park to start elevating the ball.
  13. Well, there goes some of my excitement about heading up to Cedar Rapids for the series.
  14. Not the losses-just this loss. The offense Sunday and the offense yesterday were two completely different things. Between the 6th and the 9th, the Cubs offense hit 5 hard hit low line drives-1 directly at the first baseman, 2 directly at the shortstop, and 2 hit directly at the 3rd baseman. In extra innings, the Cubs hit 4 balls that would have been home runs on any average day-none of them left the park. Could they have won the game even with all that bad luck? Yes-but yesterday, the Cubs were pretty unlucky-while Sunday had a ball or two that were unlucky, but most of it was simply a horrible offensive performance. Is that luck, or is that the reason those people play those positions -- because that's where most of the balls are hit?
  15. Wade's Numbers: 9 ERA 2.33 WHIP 3 K/9 6 BB/9 14 MPH fastball with no movement 0 ounces of grit or spunk
  16. You're quite a few days and a few pages late for that joke.
  17. I wasn't being harsh at all, and I most certainly have nothing to get over. Some people need to calm down.
  18. I have a favorite player, I'm going to continue to cheer for him. Get over it. Seriously. Sammy Sosa rules. Ruled. Sammy Sosa ruled.
  19. You can never have too many injured pitchers. The Cubs will prove that to be true over the course of this season (as if they didn't do a good enough job of that last year).
  20. I think part of the problem with the offense today was just pure bad luck. The Cubs had some hard hit balls, but if they were hit too low, they were hit right at infielders. If they were hit too high, they'd get caught up in the wind and become deep flyouts (or, in Mike Cameron's case, a great opportunity to do a faceplant). There wasn't much room for error, you know? If the wind were blowing out, this game would have been a shootout. I'm not too entirely worried about the offense right now; the power's there and they caught a few too many bad breaks today. Agreed, the ball Jones hit in the 37th was gone most days. I didn't see a few of the others (unlike the rest of you I have a life -- OK, I was secretly TV shopping for no real reason), but I heard that a few other balls were headed for the bleachers but knocked down.
