  1. Nah. Rees will start. I think Z plays a lot and maybe can start late in the year, maybe AF, Navy, or Pitt (if they're terrible). Zaire's second start can't come in the last game at UM that's currently on the schedule. That's gonna be an insane environment and you need a calmer presence. Unfortunately, the calmer presence also is a turnover machine.
  2. No they had points for both days all of yesterday. It was as if they replayed the game yesterday, but the points still showed up for Uggla/Heyward on Friday's date too (on CBS). Today they appear to have cleared it up.
  3. Ok, I know most of those sounded pretty ridiculous. But now very good sources are telling me that Tommy Rees is the starting QB for one of the teams that played in the BCS title game just 4 months ago. Where's tree's forehead-injecting heroine needle when you need it?
  4. ND's 2014 schedule was just released. It's a bit unorthodox; they're playing Alabama 12 times but giving Nick Saban a month to prepare for each game.
  5. I can't be the only one who finds it more than a little coincidental that Reggie Bush's fiance pushed out a baby during ND's spring of doom.
  6. Albeit unconfirmed, but rumors are circulating that Golson's favorite movie is none other than the Ed O'Neill classic, Little Giants.
  7. Word on the street: Denard Robinson granted 1/12 of a 5th year of eligibility solely to orchestrate a 4th quarter come back by throwing prayers against ND.
  8. This just in: Notre Dame has retired the #5 jersey in honor of the devil himself.
  9. @celebrityhottub: It's not just Notre Dame and BYU. Florida State also has an honor code: up up down down left right left right B A.
  10. And you thought Nix playing QB in the spring game was a novelty
  11. Lol. You lead your team to the bcs game as a true sophomore and then cheat on a paper. Were the trail of academic fraud casualties not enough warning you dolt. I blame Saban. I'm sure he told Golson during the game that the starting QB would never get kicked off his team.
  12. Tim is getting points from yesterday's Atl game again today.
  13. It's pretty crazy. The Cubs' run differential is 5 runs better than the Nationals, and yet they're 4 games behind them in the standings. The Cubs' run differential is 10 better than the Padres, and they're 1.5 games behind them. 13 runs better than the Dodgers and a half game behind, 17 runs better than the Brewers and tied, and 20 runs better than the Phillies and 1.5 games behind. That's what happens when you give up runs late in games. I didn't realize late inning runs were worth more. Late runs given up and less chances to score runs, equals run differentials that don't seem right. Homer, these are called cause and effect relationships. It's not just bad luck. lol
  14. All I want is a league where the rules are simple are generally followed and evenly enforced. Every time someone breaks a rule it becomes a big to do abouttheir history in the league and their reputation for playing fair and how unfair the rules are. It's the last point that tends to be the point of contention. If everyone knows the rules and agrees to them at the outset, I'm just baffled at how their application can be unreasonable or unfair. There's only 1 game I know of where the players are constantly changing the rules as the game goes along. It's my team's namesake. People who think the rules should just be applied to all (in the past, that's generally truffle, abuck, and me) are considered mean or jerks or worse for wanting a simple application of the rules to the violation. I'm sorry you were gone or raw was away from his computer or whatever the case is. But the result was those teams had an extra player or more on their roster. Even if that player doesn't get into the lineup that's an advantage (if it weren't, there would be no roster limit rule). There should be a consistently applied penalty for that violation, imo. There's no judgment being rendered about the person or their ability as a fantasy manager. Its strict liability - break this rule, get this penalty. Same for everyone. That consistency makes it fair for all. Some managers don't appear to want that system. They prefer to apply the rules ad hoc based on the willingness of the commish to enforce them and/or other teams to complain. That isn't fair to me. Abuck said he was going to just apply the rules across the board in all cases. He hasn't actually done that but those with illegal lineups have at least lost their matchups. Hopefully there isn't a points issue with tiebreakers at the end. I have no issue with you Juan and haven't at all until you sort of laid into me in the chat when you found out about the penalty. Maybe I was in the wrong place at the wrong time but whatever. I brought it up here bc it was relevant to the discussion raw and I were having. I overdid it bc you again seemed to have a personal issue with me (calling me argumentative, the whole "not listening" thing which is such a weird attack to me). I thought you were out of line so I ramped it up in response. Real talk: your explanation made no sense to me. If the real explanation was "oops I forgot to drop a guy" then that is somewhat frustrating but makes sense. I can't wrap my head around the justification you used. The fact that you seemed to stick by it despite the lack of reason annoyed me. Thus I mentioned it in a mocking manner. I don't believe I attacked you in doing so. I understand people have different views on whether a joking barb is an "attack." Guess I'm not perfect. Not sure if that's what you're referring to but that's all it was for me.
  15. this whole thing started b/c of you. abuck had to change the rule b/c you, twice in three weeks, brought a guy up from the minors without dropping anyone. That's just ridiculous. No one does that in fantasy baseball. But you did it. You got penalized for it. Then you did it again. You claimed you didn't know the rule (despite the penalty the previous week) and made up some weird excuse about thinking you could have 25 players, when you'd never had more than 20, usually had 19 and every other team in the league has 19. Then you bitched over and over about the penalty (admitted later that you were "stupid" b/c you were busy). Them's the facts. It sounds pretty bad when you see it laid out there, but I'm not spinning anything to make you look worse. I don't have to. "Attacked DJ." Ha. I haven't attacked raw. I defended abuck's actions against raw's comments that they were "brash" and over-the-top (so did you, btw). The only person I could possibly be seen as attacking is you. But finally your little rant against me has revealed what's really bothering you. You're mad that I "attacked" the league you created. The rules are needlessly complex. It's gotten better with tweaking, but there's not a single place that accurately explains all the rules, which are just more difficult than necessary (a complaint which raw has made, abuck has made, bbb made to me when I joined last year, I recall truffle making in the past, and both new guys made this year). Oh, and in case you haven't been listening, most of my complaints have been about the system (CBS) and it's stupid settings and mobile app that doesn't work. Maybe that offends you too. To be clear - you're the one with the problem. You. I don't have a problem with other managers, including raw and abuck, who I've been discussing the rules with mostly in this thread. We're discussing how to make the league better. That seems to upset you. We all make mistakes at times, but you made the same mistake twice, came up with a nonsensical excuse, and threw an absolutely hissy fit when the rules got applied to you and threatened to quit. You even reversed the penalty when it was first applied to you. Grow up man. It's just fantasy baseball. Maybe you're not listening to what I'm saying.
  16. Not sure what that means. There has always been bitching and the league has survived a long time. Once again, you didn't read what was said. I never blamed you for the problems with the league - you're the one constantly blaming everyone. I'm suggesting you stop it. You're making the league less fun by telling everyone else what they can and can't do or say. We all know your opinion so why do you need to keep posting it? Let it go. Let the other managers and Adam sort things out. We've played together for 10 years without you telling us how to do it. Why do you feel like you have to tell everyone what to do? Who have I blamed? What are you talking about? You cheated twice and got caught twice so you're going to turn this around on someone else. Instead of spending all this time arguing with me, you should re-familiarize yourself with the rules you created which haven't changed in 10 years, yet you blame for your cheating. "I thought our rosters could be 25 players! Yeah, that's it! I sometimes used 19, like we've always had, and sometimes used 20, never 25, but that's not the point. So I added a guy to my roster without dropping one (twice), which is the most basic rule in every fantasy league ever, but that's not the point. I'm sure everyone will buy it. Hey, hey...but I play fair." lol
  17. I don't think there was a grades issue. But it sounds like he needed to take a class (foreign language is often an issue for ND as it requires more than the NCAA). Also sounds like there is a personal reason. Who knows if that's family or gf or just not wanting to leave CA.
  18. Looks like he's pretty clearly not coming to ND.
  19. No TT is right. 2nd week of Jan per college football playoff.com
  20. I thought it was a week longer.
  21. Feel free to move those 60 points to this week. I'm going to need them.
  22. Yes, I have an extra 60 now. It shows "adjustment +60" at the bottom of my score for last week. That should be removed.
  23. They're trying to make the NFL calendar more year round. They'd move free agency up, move the draft back, and stick the combine in between. Also there's a conflict with Radio City Music Hall for next year...Rockettes or something. So this could be a "trial" thing...may only be for next year. What the NFL draft needs is long legs and tuxedo tails. You say "conflict" I say "perfect combination"
  24. oh no, you're right. I should leave. this league was a well-oiled machine before I got here. no bitching in this league. everyone got along, managed their team, didn't run them into the ground. I come along and the ship starts sinking. Hey, whatever gets you through the night, juan.
  25. Oh [expletive] off
