  1. If this is a test of whose team has the least known players, I have to concede. I thought Bogusevic was grab bagging but who the F is Sierra?
  2. Did he also weigh in on the Akron/UM game?
  3. You're young, my friend, very young.
  4. They are all bad, they are becoming more frequent and some conferences are worse than others and using the excuse of more conference games (against watered down conference teams like Missouri and Maryland) to justify it. Why are more games featuring good teams playing bad ones a good thing (I ask that you remove your SEC hat before answering). Again, I can't agree with the premise that there's this wave of additional crap games that weren't there before, so I don't really have a question to answer. With a 12 game schedule, the overwhelming majority of teams play 1-2 gimme games(FCS or low-level conference schools), 1-2 games against mid-level conferences(MAC, whatever C-USA or WAC call themselves now, etc), and a game against a BCS conference team. I don't find this a bad or undesirable outcome, partially because this has always been the case. There are variances from year to year and some teams may break that pattern in either direction consistently, but there's no systemic degradation of non-con scheduling that I can see. If a team adds a 9th conference game, that doesn't make the schedule worse, by definition. The outrage seems like veiled pride in Notre Dame's scheduling practices or irritation that others don't do the same as they do. Yes. Everything I do think or breathe is ND football. When I'm eating Cheerios at 9am and turn on ESPN I'm bemoaning the inferiority of Big 10 U playing little sisters of the poor. It's not that I just like college football and wish there were more interesting games as there were when I was a teenager. Has to be some weird ND bias that you want to cast upon me. Sorry but that's a [expletive] stupid excuse.

  6. All these terms that play 0 or 1 decent OOC game are just killing Sept football. There's maybe 5 really good games the first 3 weeks total.
  7. Staples have always been a thorn in Weis' side
  8. Tommy Rees is not a good QB and we've got some real problems at safety.
  9. what a disgraceful call. Stupid rule can't be overturned. But A&M gets 15 yards. Stupid.
  10. Time to just shut it down. Safety going for an interception is now 15 yard penalty and ejection. Why do we even play?
  11. I'm cheering for the sink hole to swallow the lot of them.
  12. The former coordinator of Orange Pride discussing the allegations that hostesses had sex with recruits: "He [Miles] knew, yes, we all knew that the beauty helped. I'm not going to lie about that part. It's a picture. It's no different than having a pretty campus. It's no different than having a really big football field. It's part of the whole package"
  13. I get that the NFL lets QBs run down the sideline and juke and try to get a few extra yards before stepping out right as someone is about to pop them. It's a stupid rule (imo, if you want to dance down the sideline instead of run directly OOB, then you subject yourself to getting popped right as your foot lands OOB). But a DB on a pick return who's hopping around and spinning like a ballerina? The OL is like 300 lbs. His only hope of tackling him is to dive at the guys legs. So he's supposed to know exactly when the guy is going to jump back OOB (and inexplicably turn around)? If the DB keeps running straight, the OL hits him around the waist/knees and knocks him down in a perfectly normal way.
  14. It was determined at some point earlier that it wasn't fair for teams to make changes to their keeper rosters when they were or weren't in the playoffs. So now rosters lock on the last day of the regular season.
  15. If I had known it would cause people to be nice to me, I would have encouraged my wife to whore it up years ago. At this point, I think we're gonna need proof so we know you didn't make up this story for the sake of popularity.
  16. Dont worry NYCF, the three amigos, SSR, kyle, and mr are here to help you defend yourself from the infamous el guapo.
  17. I can't decide if it's crazier that this discussion went on for 3 pages or that the guy who taught stats doesn't understand this fairly simple point (his smug attitude was sadly not surprising).
  18. Oh and let me know if you want me to forward the 14 PMs I got from BBB when I first started.
  19. And after rosters are reset. For example, some players dropped by playoff teams were added by others and need to be returned. I can't have you adding Nick Markakis for nothing.
  20. depends whether they were mocking him because they thought he wasn't ready or because they were burning a full year of team control on a team that everybody knew was going to be terrible. I actually wasn't talking about anyone here; I hadn't remembered anyone here made a comment about it. But I don't know that team control matters to the marlins. If Loria wants to spend a billion dollars to try to win the WS one year, he will and he'll pay Fernandez to be on that team. If he doesn't, he'll ship the guy out with everyone else. I don't think he's losing a ton of sleep over burning a year on a guy that shaved more than a half point off his 2.74 ERA after the ASG. Egads. His trade value will now be significantly higher than if he'd spent the year owning AA.
  21. This does kind of suck but I've never figured out what you can do about it. The only suggestion I might make would be to remove the DL spots and go with 6 bench spots, which basically mirrors what MLB clubs do in September. As long as it started after the rosters lock, I think that's a good call for next year.
  22. Boy, all those people mocking the Marlins for starting Fernandez in the bigs at the beginning of the year look like complete [expletive] morons right now.
