  1. Did I hear correctly that Hoke is keeping his staff intact? Anyone put sneaky on suicide watch?
  2. Feldman says they're interested in DeRuyter, Mora, and Wilcox (UW's DC). I read somewhere that UW is Mora's "dream job" but I'd be surprised if he up and left UCLA so quickly. DeRuyter seems like a pretty good call.
  3. They gonna try to keep Ogre and recreate the Carroll recruiting team? If you're Coach O, I think you have to take your cookies and look for a HC job at a mid-tier school, don't you? Stock isn't going to get any higher as Sark's DL coach or DC. Wonder who UW can bring in. Sark did a solid job bringing the program out of the Ty debacle (did you realize UW was -308 in PF v. PA in Ty's last year?). But only 8-4 and no great wins this year.
  4. Or perceived SOS/overall conf strength.
  5. FSU, Michigan St, SEC Champ, and then you only have 1 to pick. And if you're forced to pick NIU, that's already done for you. Oklahoma St ahead of MSU. MSU's schedule sucks. MSU played 4 teams worse than Illinois this year. I wasn't sure that was possible for an FBS team.
  6. Bama may well be the second best team (or even the first). But they (Saban) screwed up. Someone else has to get a chance. It's going to be OSU or the winner of the SEC title. Hard to argue that another team deserves a shot more than any of those 3 (though OSU's schedule is putrid). But MSU doesn't have an argument. In addition to having a bad loss to a mediocre ND team, they have no quality wins. (Jesus, is ND the best team MSU played? I think they might be.) They beat a handful of 8-win teams that feasted on crap teams to get those wins (look at the schedules for Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota and find a single quality victory). And they played 5 absolutely brutally bad teams. Western Michigan and USF have 3 wins between them. Purdue had just 1 win. Illinois got all the way to 4, but the only game they won in conference was against Purdue. Then they played Missouri Valley Conference 3rd place finisher, Youngstown State. Sorry, you play that [expletive] schedule and you have to win all your games. You don't get to complain about being left out for having "only" 1 loss. I think I started my comment by saying that MSU does not deserve to play in the BCS championship game. But someone has to play in the game, right? Two teams, in fact. So if FSU wins, they're clearly in. Who else is? If MSU beats OSU and Auburn beats Mizzou, then who should play in the game? You really think Bama should get another title game again after not making the SEC conf championship game (and even though they lost their last game)? Okie St?
  7. Look at it this way (I picked ND b/c I had the info at hand): ND's opponent's total number of victories: 82 (and ND's wasn't even the hardest schedule; Temple and Air Force each had 2 wins) MSU's opponent's total number of victories: 60 (including MVC-team Youngstown State's 8 wins). Auburn's opponent's total number of victories: 74 (including 7 from W Carolina and Florida Atlantic)

  9. Not sure about that. ND played the role that MSU sometimes plays against us. Close loss and then ND goes on to have a meh season with a really stupid loss (Pitt). So losing to ND looks pretty bad. And Auburn will have beaten the 2-time defending champ and a 10-win Missouri team. The middle of the SEC is pretty weak this year, but almost the entire big ten sucks. OSU is undefeated and barely snuck by a 5-loss Michigan team. So beating them doesn't jump MSU up. What's MSU's best win to date?
  10. Think Paul Walker is playing tricks with your mind.
  11. we're all msu fans next week
  12. It's embarrassing that the conferences have their own refs. The amount of money riding on some of these games is insane.
  13. OSU would be slaughtered by Bama, even if OSU was fresh and Bama had just finished the Iron Bowl. Buckeyes' schedule was such a joke.
  14. It's almost as bad as dick Clark in his last years doing New Year's Eve Exactly the comparison I made to my wife. Worst part is he seems like a good guy and he knows he can't talk. Just retire and maybe come back once or twice a year.
  15. Lee Corso needs to stop. It hurts to listen.
  16. Clemson is not Mississippi U.
  17. nice of mississippi to let another sec team get bowl eligible.
  18. hail state?
  19. ND offered him just 2 weeks ago. A day before UM offered. And yes, sounds like a Cat linebacker for ND (Shembo's spot; most of the time with his hand down).
  20. Jhonny's are unquestionably awesome, so sorry mizzou guys.
  21. At least you don't have to worry about recruiting. Peppers is solid. No way he'll take those visits he said he'll take and risk losing his offer from Michigan, per Hoke's ironclad "commits can't take other visits" policy.
  22. I have to route for Bama. I want Meyer undefeated and without a title 2 years in a row.
  23. who shot the guy at the 2 yard line?
