Funny that there was a lot of grumbling at ND about the MSU win. Based on last year, it felt like too close of a game and lots of people were upset that we couldn't win by more. But MSU ended up with the best defense in CFB this year and ND ended up beating a 13-win team. Not sure how many times that's happened in CFB, but it can't be many. Never begrudge a W, especially early in the year when rankings are even more meaningless. If Dantonio and Narduzzi stick around long term, they might finally end "Sparty No!!!" as a thing. If so, and Meyer doesn't have another heart attack, things could get pretty dicey in AA for the next several years.

My favorite part was that 90 was stretching his left leg until the trainers came out and worked on his right leg. On the sideline, he went back to limping on his left leg. They should make injuries stay out until a change of possession or at least 3 plays or something more than 5 seconds.

That's the most ridiculous story ever. Those dudes need a better cover than, "I was just walking by this group of people and all of the sudden a big dude punched me in the face for no reason". except it sounds like they've got a security camera video that corroborates their claim. Lewan runs 6-7, 315 lbs, and looks every bit the part of a big jock douchebag. Him randomly punching a guy in the face is much more believable than a small group of rival fans starting a fight with him at a popular UM bar.

ND released it's 2014-2016 schedules. Not a single BigX game in 2015.

Is Texas really that much of a better job than FSU or OSU? I am not trying to have a big comparison, I would just think that the money and ability to compete are similar to Texas Yeah, Meyer is 24-1 at OSU (and that's not likely to get much worse, as the big ten isn't terribly tough right now), is originally from Toledo and doesn't even have to leave his state to recruit if he doesn't want to. What's the incentive to go to Texas? Texas was the job Meyer wanted after Florida more so that OSU. But I agree the job is not that much better. However I would say that Texas is more than a few steps better than FSU from an entire Athletic Dept standpoint. Financially they are much better off. The reason Fisher has been considered a favorite is that he is supposedly very unhappy with the university president. Not to mention he would get a very nice raise. Meyer wanted the Texas job in the same way he wanted the ND job. I definitely think Fisher and Malzahn are the most likely of those listed above. Do UT folks think Briles isn't big time enough?

It's crazy that's the going price for him and he's only coached Mike Sherman recruits. (I know he's recruiting well, this is more an indictment on coaching salaries.) He is. Hope he can coach them up. Their D this year was brutal.

The year will probably be capped by Jaylon Smith transferring and Tommy Rees being magically granted another year of eligibility just as Everett Golson is denied re-entry. I'm going to assume that half the team gets decapitated in Yankee Stadium as Brady Hoke, in shirtsleeves with no headset, stands looking on totally covered in blood, but nonetheless oblivious.
