I believe it. And also, it's not as if guys like Jay-Z or Scott Boras are brought in to haggle over contractual terms. He's there to close the main framework of a deal. For a baseball contract, that's dollars and years. It's totally true. I've never negotiated a baseball contract, but I've seen one and I know the CBA dictates a lot of terms or at least a framework. Not so in music contracts, esp when the artist has leverage like Jay Z does. The negotiation over his recording rights, publishing rights, and performance deals would be insane.
