Of course the rules thread isn't accurate or updated which is why there were like 5 threads stickied. I'm fine with sticking around if we have a league with 12 interested managers.

i'm wavering. thinking it's going to be even more complicated with the rules threads being lost. and we're probably looking more realistically at 12 or maybe even 10 managers. brian/tuna now confirmed he's out. imb hasn't replied and he was wavering last year. we've only had a handful of people confirm that they're playing and we're at the normal roster cutoff date without ever having an open off-season.

i know everyone (myself included) is going to be super against a long-term extension for arrieta. so . . . FUN GAME what is the maximum six year contract (2016-2021) the cubs could give arrieta that would make you say "oooh nice job cubs" and smile real big? There's nothing realistic that I'd be happy about. But if he is awesome again in 2016, I'll have more comfort that he can throw this many innings and that he's actually awesome and my willingness to throw a bunch of money at him will go up. Outside of the CY pitching thing, he's awesome too.

Hey, looks like maybe he was just one of those guys after all: Japanese baseball is weird. So now your story is that you were referring to his Japanese BABIP? This is befuddling. I'm befuddled.

.336 was his career high for a season (in the 50 game sample in 05), which isn't outlandishly high. for the most part (and for his career) he was in the low-mid .300s, though. Like I said, I was just eyeballing his season breakdowns. The split in 2007 alone seems pretty glaring. I get that you don't know anything about prospects, but I have no idea what you're arguing here. Murton was not a beneficiary of an unsustainable BABIP.

I think I mentioned Fife's mom works in my office. He told her this is the best training/medical staff he's ever worked with (he was in BOS and LAD, not sure if anywhere else) and he's feeling as good as ever. Not that I'm super excited for Fife, but cool to hear great things about the org anyway and really anything that suggests baseball will be here soon is fun. -

This is basically what i would've replied if I were on a computer and not my phone. And complaining about projections being too low when they ultimately combine for a 95 win median team projection seems kinda silly. Your last paragraph seems to ring especially true when our rookies came in as big league ready as their play showed last year. I wouldn't expect a lot of improvement and I would be more than happy if they were about the same as last year. I'm expecting improvements from Russell and Soler. I'm not expecting Bryant or Schwarbs to get much better (and both could/should regress some). So their rookie seasons will be their peaks?

I can't believe anyone thinks any of these things are difficult to make. My wife made banana muffin waffles this weekend. Well, she made the batter and I manned the waffle iron (ain't no one touching my horsefeathering waffle iron). Those may have put waffles over the top.
