    No, you can't trade points.

the cap is only the keeper cap. once the keeper deadline passes, you can exceed the cap (through trades, the draft, etc) and then it's meaningless during the season until next season when you have to get back under the cap with your 10 majors and 10 minors keepers. So you're way over it because you need to get drop or trade a bunch of players by March 12 just like everyone else.

yes, but you don't have to do that until the 12th and you may want to wait in case you want to make trades. Some people will be looking to trade non-exempt keepers because they have more than 2000 points and would rather trade those guys for exempt players or for trade picks. Some people will be looking to trade exempt players to add points because they're below 2000 points. If someone posts "I can take points" they're saying they want non-exempt guys. Generally, teams that contended last year will have more points to give up and guys that tanked or did poorly will be looking to add points. Sorry if this is obvious.
  8. Trading opens March 3. Roster must be finalized on CBS by March 12. We'll start the draft March 14. Tim or anyone else that can find the draft order thread and draft pick trade thread from last year in the archives, please post them on the new board, if you could.

Yes. You can keep 10 minor league players. You can keep 10 players that exceeded minor league limits. A player can still be minors eligible but out of exemptions and count toward the cap though I'm not sure it's ever happened to someone worth keeping. Note for hitters that minors limit is 200 ABs in any one year but exempt limit is 50 PAs each year.
  10. I'm in the 5%! (of people who think the Cubs are projected too low by 4 games)

Example (not that I'd necessarily do this): I could keep these guys and be under the 2000 point limit Schwarber (1st exemption) - 0 Zimmerman - 275.25 Wong (last exemption) - 0 Castro - 287.25 Franco (2nd exemption) - 0 Calhoun (last exemption) - 0 Soler (2nd exemption) - 0 King Felix - 524.5 Jake - 866.5 Corbin - 0 And all 10 guys in my minors all of whom are exempt. Total Keeper points: 1953.5 Again, just an example.

From the Rules thread at NSBB: The players identified in Tim's and my posts above haven't used all 3 of their exemptions yet, so you can keep them without counting them toward your 2000 point limit. Otherwise, you can keep 10 guys in the minors and 10 guys in the majors but the total points in 2015 of non-exempt players can't be higher than 2000. Does that help? On the CBS site, there are some rules on the League Details page. There are also a bunch of threads in the archives that will have some rules. It's been simplified now that it's a daily changes league with just a 7-start cap. But the exemptions are critical, esp as people finalize rosters in the next couple weeks. Please make sure you understand before you start trading, esp with Tim.

Luckily for you, I want Team 2. i hope you enjoy Hanley Ramirez; last summer he cost you Schwarber and Jose Berrios and it was totally worth it

ok. If I make those changes now, will it muck up the point totals from last year? I want people to be able to use the CBS site to see how many points guys had last year and that should reflect the rules before we remove E and GIDP. Can we sticky the trades threads so people know what they have? i'd hate to see someone trade the same draft pick to two different teams like some dumbass a few years ago. Propose: Opening trades on March 3. Rosters due March 12. Draft starts March 15.

Couple other thoughts: 1. We were planning to reshuffle the divisions this year. I think that makes sense with so many new managers (and UK, who was new last year and tanked his season) in the same division. 2. I want to remove E (-1) from the scoring system. I'd actually like to remove GIDP (-1) as well. Neither of those makes much sense to me especially relative to the weight given to other scoring categories. Do we have all the teams filled? There was discussion about adding a friend of Steve's but I don't know if that happened or wasn't necessary.

If everyone sticks with it, then we'll have 16. If one person bails, we'll have to figure something out. If two bail, we'll go with 14. We need to set a keeper date and a draft date. I think we first need to get the managers assigned to teams and give them a little time to ask questions since the rules are even less clear. did we ever confirm that bob and navin are staying in? Then we can open up trading, which isn't currently open, and set a keeper deadline and a draft date.

you guys have read the rules, on the cbs page, here, and the several threads in the archives that include rules and explanation, and finally the unwritten rules, right?

Um, I think that's UK's team. He's still around. He tanked last year to get the #1 draft pick. It's a common strategy with mixed results.

Don't think that's my call. I'd prefer like 14 but that's just me
