Because Gordon is much, much better. Fowler was actually better this year from a fWAR perspective, and Gordon is older and will be more expensive. Presumably this would be with the eye on moving him to CF, which hurts his value further. Gordon is a fine player but giving a 32 year old a 5 year deal to try a more demanding position they have never played doesn't seem like this FO's style. Which is to say that I don't believe this rumor for a second. Sherman + no local reporting on it makes it pretty likely to be an Agent just dropping the name of a team that'll spend money. I love the idea of Schwarber, Gordon, and Soler in the OF. By June, they're just going to stand there and look at each other when a ball is hit to the gap and Addison is going to have to run all the way out to the wall to retrieve it like the kid brother in a sandlot league. Then they'll come to the plate and hit dong dong dong and all will be forgiven.

ok well if your prior requests were rejected and you were finally unbanned within hours of being asked back to RK... of course, that's not the point. the point seemed fairly obvious. Tim was surprised that he got a little push back by inviting a previously permabanned poster to mange in the league. I don't think it's surprising that someone that's been banned from nsbb might get some skepticism. If Tim said "hey, I just added meph. he's been really successful in fantasy leagues, so I'm sure he'll be great" there might be some folks here that questioned the decision.

I feel like there's a point you're trying to make. are you being dense on purpose? the point is obvious. as i already mentioned above, we haven't confirmed that all managers are returning yet (why it matters). so it would make sense to do nothing for the time being. there's no urgency, since the season hasn't even ended. I didn't say we had to wait until spring; i suggested we wait for the season to end, then confirm we have a full boat of managers before we start making trade proposals. as was the case last year, i'm sure within seconds of getting the ok to make trade proposals, you'll have a trade or two already done.
