    This is exactly it. He can't stand Portnoy and their whole schtick and made a big deal out of nothing because he had an axe to grind going in. Completely dumb on his part but the stoolies making this big of a deal about it is even worse.

    I assume this is an end of the season we need a body thing or something of that nature?

    So what we're saying is that the NFL is hard and not all hope is lost? Caleb was bad. The throws he made were largely inaccurate. He saw a real NFL defense for the first time ever who wasn't just showing him a base defense and it rattled him. Hopefully he learns from it and gets better and based on what we've seen and heard from him, there's no reason to believe he won't do exactly that.

    Yeah, that catch was insane. And on that note, the officiating in every game I watched this weekend was incredibad. There should have been PI on that play, then on consecutive plays in the Colorado Nebraska game there was a phantom hold on Nebraska that called back a huge run, then a roughing the QB call on Colorado that wasn't even close to roughing. Just a couple of the examples that were glaring.

    Well that's just silly. NY style is wildly overrated and not nearly as good as deep dish but tavern cut is the real champ here.

    Yeah, if you're in the Peoria area and can get the games via a cable outlet you're going to be in the blackout area. I have MLBTV but get blacked out of the Cardinals games and use a site called Methstreams that's been pretty reliable for those games. I've used it to watch the Bears too when the games aren't on down here.

    The AL Central is collectively 38 games under .500. 4 of the 5 teams are over .500.

    Well, it was fun while it lasted and I got to see a couple fun games in DC. Should have traded Steele at the deadline (kidding). This feels like a real white flag move sending Kyle out there again tonight. Killian or Birdsell have to be better options at this point with someone else ready to piggyback if needed. Hell, DFA Kyle and Mastro and bring them both up.

    It's apparently changed significantly since I looked yesterday. It was showing 80% chance of storms from like 2:00 pm on through the evening. Bully for me since I'll be in DC.

    I wonder if he's hoping to get like 4 innings from Wicks and then empty the pen with the likelihood there's no game Saturday.

    I would bet we get Shota, Taillon or Assad, then whoever comes up from Iowa on Sunday. I'm betting Sunday gets weird though because Saturday is probably getting rained out, so you'll have expanded rosters and then probably no extra player for the DH since they'll have 2 extras anyway.

    I'd argue that going 2-2 against Skenes, one of which was a 103 EV rope, tells me he's seeing the ball well against pretty much all the pitchers. He's had a few hits off lefty specialists lately too. Feels more real than smoke and mirrors to me.

    I don't have any real objection to much of this but Flaherty's shoulder exploding during a 4 year deal seems like a near guarantee.

    He's about as ideal of a 4th OF as you're going to find. Cheap, gets on base, is acceptable at all 3 spots, and overall isn't going to cost you games when he plays. He's a 4th OF for a reason and you're not going to get an .800 OPS out of that spot.

    There were tickets listed for $0 for the Cards game last night in STL. The BFIBS are completely apathetic at this point and it's hilarious after all the self flagellation over the years.

    Ah yes, putting a 32 year old catcher at 1B or DH who has a career .628 OPS and has amassed nearly half of his career WAR this season and didn't even have an MLB job from 2018-2021. Makes tons of sense.
