  1. The start of that tweet was very ominous and I was expecting to read he re-aggravated something. Very glad it was just pitch count.
  2. It's always funny reading these threads the next day and not in the moment because they seem so incredibly reactionary even though the emotions are generally fine in the moment. I'm not sure I agree that the runner would have scored if the contact play was on in the 10th. The infield was in and Nico got to it quickly and would have had a solid shot at the runner at the plate. It's not like PCA was on 3rd.
  3. By the time he's done, I bet Javy has more total WAR than KB. I was surprised to see Javy's 2 best seasons were better than KB's 2nd best season. The defense and baserunning value in those 2018 and 2019 seasons on top of the power were absolutely nuts. I also didn't realize how good he was after the trade to the Mets on 2021.
  4. Man, if he's nibbling like that in Iowa and walking guys at that rate, there's no way I trust him to come up, especially averaging less than 92 on the fastball. That just won't play.
  5. I was just looking at the 40 man but I suppose they could go down that road again.
  6. I've been resistant to the idea of Robertson, but with Steele down already and all the other options walking the world or not quite ready yet in Iowa, it may be the time to make that move. Neely, Palencia and Little have all walked at least 2 batters in 4 IP or less and they're the only real viable options to bring up in place of Pearson and Morgan right now.
  7. That ball was 4" inside. There's absolutely no reason he should have been able to hit that pitch out. And if he's actually injured, I kind of have to give him a pass on last night anyway.
  8. It's interesting that Nightengale is the only one I've seen say TJS and Passan is still saying reconstructive elbow surgery with no real mention of anything beyond that. I have to think Bob is wrong here given the track records.
  9. I would not have expected to see Taillon with a lower ERA than Cease. I'm very done with these west coast games and would like to see a bunch of 1:20 starts to keep me entertained while working.
  10. Just for reference, last year Vlad, Harper and Freeman were the only 1B to top 4 fWAR or bWAR, so that would be a fantastic result for him for the season.
  11. I had no idea Siri was a hitter until I got to the last sentence and you momentarily had me terrified. 🤣
  12. This is all incredibly dumb.
  13. As much as I despise Kelvin Sampson and almost everything he stands for, he completely outcoached Scheyer in the last 5 minutes of that game. Duke's inability to inbound the ball was really what killed them. I have no idea why they didn't get more creative with that. A couple of fantastic games to watch though and the final tonight should be fun.
  14. I didn't read the whole thread so not sure if it's been mentioned, but the offense doing absolutely nothing after the first 2 innings is as much to blame as the relievers and Brown. 7 runs should be enough to win a game but when you get them all in the first 2 innings and barely manage a hit after that I don't think you can just say stupid bullpen and call it a day. Still, 2 of 3 against the Padres is a net positive.
  15. I think you could HAVE spent a little more time in English class and it would HAVE done you some good.
  16. Kilian just doesn't have anything to consistently put good hitters away. Disappointing that all we're going to come away with from trading KB, Rizzo, Baez and Kimbrel other than PCA is maybe something from Caissie and Alcantara.
  17. I don't blame the kid. And I think he's a tough guy to replace. There aren't a lot of guys as big and athletic as he is who are willing to do the dirty work down low. Kid is a beast on the boards and I'm sad to see him go, especially to Michigan. I also have a little bit of concern about what that does for recruiting in state with him being the Illinois Mr. Basketball last year.
  18. I'm a little surprised they sent him back out for the 6th.
  19. Woof. Morez Johnson to Michigan.
  20. Yeah, even without seeing the data, the swing decisions being much better are obvious. He's waaaaaay less aggressive right now than he was even in the spring.
  21. This is wild after how dominant he was for 3 years. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/04/pirates-option-david-bednar.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=bluesky
