He got asked to do something he never does that put him in an 0-2 hole. I hated that move as soon as he shortened up.

Castro is also much better hitting as a lefty so I don't have a big issue with it as bad as PCA has been lately.

More likely is that getting out of Des Moines was a bitch.

They'd have to do that Monday for it to really make a difference in rest for anyone and unless you get like 6 innings out of Jamo in game one, that seems like a risky play that could decimate your pen for the rest of the series if it doesn't go well.

I wouldn't be surprised if you see Caissie supplant Seiya at DH a decent amount against RHP. He was borderline bad against them before this slump and he's been absolutely wretched against them during it. I don't expect magic, but I like the possibility of him running into a couple HRs over the next few weeks. He's going to swing and miss but based on the minor league data, he makes decent swing decisions so hopefully he gets some fastballs to test him early and does damage.

The point is that starting pitching hasn't been the issue since the break. I won't argue I'd like to have seen another arm. -

Yeah, he's a keep him on the MLB roster or lose him guy. I think you'll maybe see some additional days off for Tucker, Happ and PCA with Castro on the roster and Amaya/Kelly available to DH now.
