  1. Double to the wall by Santana. 2 runs score. 2-1 Mets still only 1 out. Now a sac fly for a 3-1 lead.
  2. Hopefully just one. Maybe LaRussa quits and the Cards hire him to destroy the franchise?
  3. Because Pujols is due a huge payday after next year I believe. If they want to keep payroll reasonably close to where it is, they can't afford $15MM for Holliday, $18 MM for Pujols, $10MM for Carpenter and Lohse, an ever increasing price tag for Wainwright and keep a decent roster elsewhere. If he continues on his hot streak, I'm pretty sure he walks. They can probably keep DeRo, but even with the money they have coming off the books this year (Pineiro, Glaus, Green, etc.) they'll have a bunch of holes to fill and not a ton of money or ML ready prospect to fill them.
  4. This isn't personal ranking, this is where I think they stand in the voting, and Happ seems to be getting more press, but that may change (and I could easily be wrong). Its really going to come down to which one of Happ/Wells finishes stronger. I don't think McCutchen or any of the other batters are going to do enough to really merit strong consideration and Hanson is already behind in wins, IP, K, ERA, whatever and probably won't be able to do enough, without going on some ridiculous run, to win. Which makes it all the more unfortunate he got hosed out of wins in his first couple of starts since that's really what the voters will look at.
  5. When did he start flailing away at pitches? He doesn't walk a lot yet, but he certainly hasn't been a strikeout machine by any means either.
  6. And the award for "Biggest understatement of the year post goes to.......EJ!!!!!!"
  7. See, here's the problem with Dusty. 107 pitches before the inning starts and he sends Harang back out there, He's going to end up throwing 120+ after the walk, maybe 130. Just dumb.
  8. Phillies are having a very Cub like inning against SF. Hit by the pitcher, flare by the leadoff guy, double by Sanchez and then a squibber down the 1st base line that Howard flipped into the first base dugout all ending in 3 runs scored so far.
  9. Cards lose.
  10. He got drilled in the elbow with a fastball and then left the game a few minutes later because it appeared he was woozy.
  11. I think the arm is ok. Unless he was in so much pain he almost passed out.
  12. Shut up you, with your rationality and such!!
  13. Sounds like Heilman to blow it...er, go for the save.
  14. If it makes anybody feel better, I just saw that Dusty broke another pitcher. Volquez is having elbow surgery on Monday. DLEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Volquez to have TJS. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AlOJ34uafIXWszLvx7oIVdURvLYF?slug=ap-reds-volquez&prov=ap&type=lgns Edit: I can't read. Elbow surgery, not known if it's TJS or not yet.
  16. Man, he made an out before I had a chance to ask for harden or Wells to hit instead of Hoff.
  17. RIOT-POWER!!!!! Where the hell did that come from?
  18. Looks like Sori's getting paid back for all those bloops the last couple weeks. Ha ha Cantu! And they say Fox shouldn't play 3rd.
  19. That would be soul crushing after all this for Gregg to give it away in the ninth. I've been preparing for the worst since the 4th inning. Oh, so have I. It would just have been less painful for it to have heppened in the 6th or something than for it to get this far and then give it away.
  20. That would be soul crushing after all this for Gregg to give it away in the ninth.
  21. Just not fair when he actually gets it over. Wow!
  22. He'd be hitting RH though, which he isn't awful at.
  23. Cards just got pretty lucky. Lugo was meat at 3rd trying to stretch a double and the ball pegged him in the back about 12 feet from the bag. Then of course Holliday knocked him in.
