  1. Then people aren't paying attention. I haven't had time to do anything the last couple of days, but St. Louis will be getting robbed with anything lower than a 4 seed. I think this bracket is bound to miss badly on them. If they win the A-10 tourney, I would be slightly surprised if they don't get bumped to the 3 line.
  2. I'd love to see the UI-IU game end like that tomorrow and watch Crean lose his mind getting ejected.
  3. yeah, but minnesota had like 20 turnovers and illinois had 6. Unfortunately they were all in a 2 minute span toward the end of the first half when Abrams decided to play with his head up his ass. They should have been up 20 at the break instead of 9 and the game wouldn't have been anywhere near close. They still do way too many dumb things, but Groce has them on the right track at least.
  4. I'm only listening on radio, but that's about as ugly of a win as I think can remember.
  5. Moe should be Purdue. Boilermakers and whatnot. I guess making Milton Penn State would be a little unsavory though.
  6. If what this story is saying is accurate, I really kind of wish the Bears had a 3rd rounder to use on him. Denard Robinson as a WR?
  7. 590 KFNS is broadcasting it as well.
  8. How the hell do you get a stress fracture in a rib? That doesn't seem possible. Also, damn it.
  9. Seriously Torre? Bunting with Reyes on 1st, Phillips at the plate and nobody out with a 2-0 lead in the 5th inning? Stupidity at it's finest. And that was an interesting complete whiff and advance by Braun.
  10. Bushrod and Bennett would be perfect. Definitely not perfect, but a step in the right direction. What's the deal on Sam Baker? Did he sign somewhere yet or just no interest?
  11. With this list, I was thinking you were trying to be tricky and it was going to be a pitcher. Color me surprised.
  12. I really like the idea of Barrett Jones in the 2nd round. He's got that nasty attitude you like in a lineman and is skilled enough to play multiple positions, eventually (if not immediately) becoming the starting center. Bushrod-Jones-Garza-Carimi-Webb or Bushrod-Louis-Jones-Carimi-Webb is a lot better than what they ran out there last year.
  13. I'm still not sure why he even has a driver in his bag sometime. He hit his 3/5 woods as far as most tour players hit their driver and he's way more consistent in keeping it in the fairway compared to the driver. Although there are times when he get his driver going, but it's rare. But yeah, like you said, nobody is touching him when he's putting like that. I mean... 100 putts in 72 holes? That's just insane. That was the most amazing part of his run of majors. If he had a putt 10 feet or shorter, there was very little doubt it was going in. I really think that's been the biggest difference the last 4-5 years. Those tricky 8-10 footers just haven't been going down like they were back then.
  14. MOAR TERRIBLE OFFICIATING! Should have been a goal tend on Zeller on that block. I just don't think most of them have any idea what's going on on the court most of the time.
  15. That's exactly what I was thinking of when I typed that. Who knows what kind of stuff he's gotten access to with his overseas connections/travels.
  16. And now the announcer, an IU guy, has noted on the last 2 trips down the floor how an Illinois player got thrown to the floor on a rebound and the shooter got fouled on consecutive plays without any calls. Maybe elbowing one of the refs would be a better way to get the point across that they're awful.
  17. You think maybe next year he will now have a significant drop off? I'm just saying it's amusing no one ever discusses PEDs in basketball. Well, they're obviously testing for stuff with both Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis both getting suspended in the last 5 years. I'm sure Kobe would be taking some cutting edge stuff that can't be tested for yet though.
  18. I'm so tired of watching this crap. Groce should just put in 5 guys that you don't care if they foul out and tell them to just run people over and start throwing elbows. The pushing and grabbing OSU has gotten away with all season is such [expletive] and I'm going to laugh at them when they get into foul trouble in the first 5 minutes of every tournament game they play.
  19. No way Illinois wins today, especially if Craft gets to run into a stationary Egwu, throw the ball at the rim and go to the free throw line. Officials have already been wildly inconsistent both ways.
  20. Jeff Withey just got away with a stiff arm to catch a post entry pass that I'm pretty sure Walter Payton would have been proud of. College officiating is sooooooooo awful.
  21. It never will. He's posturing so that it can look like the city will "give" him something; my guess is it will be centered around an agreement to fix up the Sheridan L stop, something the city already needs to do and probably would have done in the relatively near future anyway. Exactly, he has to come out of this looking like all his pissing and moaning gets something for the neighborhood even though at the end of the day, it's about the cash cow that is the Cubs staying exactly where they are and making more money than they are now. If he knows what's good for him, and as long as he's been around, he probably does, he'll shut his mouth and take whatever the city gives him and then pat himself on the back for it (or have Rahm do it for him).
  22. Pretty awesome thing happened today for senior day at SLU. One of their players, Femi John, played as a freshman and sophomore and then had a career ending knee injury. He's apparently still been going to practices and classes since the injury, but hasn't been on the official roster. In spite of not actually being on the team, SLU still recognized him today after the game for Senior Day. Pretty classy move if you ask me.
  23. Pretty sure a pea is a seed -- and the pod the fruit. A beet is a root vegetable. Avocado is definitely a fruit. Peas are legumes.
  24. They're also in the berry family.
  25. And, so we come to the tomato... It's a fruit. Period. No discussion needed. A berry, specifically, in case you were curious.
