  1. What part of his 32 HR, 108 RBI, and .821 OPS from last year did you have a problem with?
  2. Man, talk about a huge defensive replacement. I have serious doubt as to whether Clevenger and Valbuena would have turned that.
  3. He's throwing a helluva game. Very efficient too. How many pitches? 83 thru 7.
  4. He's throwing a helluva game. Very efficient too.
  5. Well, a lot of players won't win rings. Also, I'm not sure an overtime loss in Chicago against what is still a good Bulls defense with someone named Chris Copeland starting elicits a "don't tell me the Knicks are contenders" post. That was kind of a throw away game last night for both teams. No Chandler or Martin for the Knicks and no Taj or Noah for the Bulls. It was fun to watch a wide open game with no big men clogging the lane though. To your larger point, I don't think the Knicks can win because they rely entirely too much on outside shooting and will have a tough time getting easy baskets against good defensive teams in the playoffs because of the lack of inside scoring and not much of a threat when it comes to fast break points.
  6. Nice crotch grab?
  7. What a weird thing to say. He's the basketball equivalent of sugar. It's tastes good and will give you an energy fix but it's not nutritionally valuable for health or a viable fuel for any meaningful amount of time. The Knicks, Celtics, Thunder, Warriors and soon the Bulls agree with me. He's the physical manifestation of the Bulls punting a year and while that was the right thing to do, it's not something that inspires me as a fan. He's a valuable guy to have on your team for instant offense. He's a guy you use on a sporadic basis when he's having a good game. He's hot, play him. He's not, he sits. They don't have that luxury with Rose out, so he plays a lot. Hence the live by the Nate, die by the Nate we've seen pretty routinely in this thread.
  8. it's working fine for me. I got it on the lap top, but it won't load on my phone. Audio is usually blocked at work, got lucky today.
  9. Anybody else having trouble with gameday or mlb radio?
  10. yes i can't think of any non-cub prospects who did something stupid with a bat, like, say, throwing it an an umpire. What ever happened to the dude who karate kicked the catcher and then charged the mound?
  11. Outside of the fact that most backup catchers are terrible hitters, I've always found that strategy to be completely irrational as well. If the game gets that late and your catcher gets hurt, oh well, get 'em tomorrow. That looked like the proverbial unintentional intentional walk by Axford. Either that or he's deathly afraid of any LH hitter.
  12. Ump said if he had the chance to call it again it wouldn't be a strike. Thanks buddy.
  13. I don't have an issue with that. You bite on a pump fake, you deserve negative consequences. You should. If the offensive guy leans into the defender, that should never, ever be called a foul. If the the defender stays vertical, you're rewarding the offensive guy for initiating contact. It's a crap play and awful officiating when it gets called.
  14. Yep. There was a 3-4 play stretch in the first half where they missed a goal tend, called a BS foul on McGary, missed a kick which should have reset the shot clock for Louisville (that was at about 9 when it happened), and then called McGary for a travel on a rebound when he was obviously pushed. And that's just one sequence. Absolutely embarrassing performance all around, and that doesn't even get into the wrestling match they let things become in general. Bilas has been bitching about this for a couple years now and he's exactly right about it. They have to get rid of all the grabbing and pushing that teams (read: Wisconsin) get away with to muck it up and give themselves a chance.
  15. No it's not. It's definitely a foul, but with the body. That's all ball up top. Absolutely legit foul call, but not on the wrist/arm.
  16. First time I've listened to the new TV combo. Not a big fan of Deshaies' voice. Not very strong. Hopefully the analysis is good.
  17. I'll buy this line of thinking if only because I know how horrendously difficult the HR department at my company makes it to fire people. You have to have absolute, lock down, no questions asked proof of something pretty egregious for them to allow you to fire someone. We had a CDL driver get a DUI that he didn't report to us and the only reason HR let us fire him was because his CDL expired before his court proceedings were over; he couldn't renew his license and therefore couldn't drive. They're just so paranoid about potential lawsuits.
  18. Be greedy. Then we can talk trash tomorrow!
  19. Yeah, he honestly wasn't bad today. One hard hit ball to the best player on the other team and a walk on a pitch he more than likely got squeezed on. Throw in the K and the DP ball and it's not nearly as bad as the numbers make it look.
  20. Well, damn. I didn't know Gllispie had gotten canned (again) and Tubby had replaced him.
