  1. He looked dominant on a sporadic basis this year, but definitely lacked consistency. I saw him against the Reds affiliate (Dayton?) and he was nearly untouchable. I can see him listed highly before some of these other less/unproven guys despite being a bit older.
  2. Yeah, this list isn't very good.
  3. Well, between what you just said and what Jay said about wanting more screen passes, I think that may play in the Bears' favor. Fast defense usually means aggressive to the ball and that could very well leave them vulnerable to screens.
  4. They still have JJ Watt... That's exactly why I threw that last sentence in there!
  5. Have the Texans figured out what they're doing with Cushing out for the year? I have to think losing him has to have a significant effect on how good their defense is now. Might be mitigated a bit against the Bears porous offensive line though.

    NFL Week 9

I think when you've got a guy like Luck, who is proving to be everything the experts thought he could be thus far, keeping it close and giving him a chance to win it late isn't a bad play. Also, those two blowout losses, to the Bears on the road in week 1 and to the Jets on the road the week after the emotional Pagano stuff and win against the Packers. I wouldn't be surprised to see them win both of the Jax and KC road games. The two home games they're favored in are good bets for Ws as well. And with as bad as the rest of the AFC appears to be, 9-7 probably gets them in.
  7. His ability to hit the ball with his fist as often as he does is just unbelievable. The hand eye coordination and timing are just amazing. And Cutler likes throwing to Marshall! Loving the "Let's go Bears!" chant in the background.
  8. Peanut! Holy isht!
  9. I'm becoming more and more impressed with Conte all the time. The guy makes all kinds of plays and looks like he's a pretty decent cover guy for a safety.
  10. Outside of all of that being completely inaccurate, right on bro!
  11. Kyle, I think you need to fix your sig.....
  12. Yeah, potentially I would think. He's only 31. But he does have about 2000 innings on his arm in the last 8 years. He could be the best pitcher on the staff or his arm could fall off. He just turned 32 actually.
  13. I would think it's probably not very likely. This has hope he builds value and trade him at the deadline written all over it. I certainly wouldn't mind it if he stuck around for a bit provided he regains a couple ticks on his FB.
  14. You have the biggest Enzyte and Viagra induced doom boner that is possible. God you suck.
  15. Resign him to a 3 year $21.5mm deal. It's about average So you're going with him being wrong and you wanting to pay more. I do not think you mean that. Kyle has effectivelY driven you insane. That's pretty disturbing. Try reading that again, but pretend it's in green.
  16. That approach seems completely reasonable and plausible. That would be a team that at least wouldn't be painful to watch the last 2 months of the season unless they really went after it in terms of selling off parts for prospects.
  17. Um, probably because Theo and Jed said as much during the call that just was transcribed. That whole "no major FA signings until the year we plan to win the division" part (paraphrased, of course).
  18. He's an average late inning guy who's never been worth more than 1.3 WAR and he'll be 30 at the beginning of next season. They're paying over $7 MM per year to a guy who shouldn't be getting more than about $3-4 MM max. For the money he's being paid, yes, he's a bad player. He has a combined 3.5 WAR over the last 4 years. $5 mm per year to fill a gaping hole, okay, but to sign him to that deal when he hasn't even hit the open market is asinine.
  19. Absolutely. He's a guy you'd definitely like to have on a short term deal at the deadline. Somebody always needs a closer and if he's healthy, he's got the track record that somebody will be willing to pay for.
  20. Well, there's kind of a huge difference in overpaying for players who are actually good at baseball and doing what Ned Colletti is doing. That's a pretty poor effort, even for you.
  21. There's so much dumb in there I don't even see the point in trying to find all of it.
  22. I find it hard to believe that Williams was worse than Rachal. He was just terrible yesterday.
  23. Just so I have this straight, there's definitely no spending limit on a guy like this because he's over 23 right?
  24. I don't think the likely asking price for one year of Johnson from a team primarily looking to dump his $15M salary is going to be prohibitive. A lot depends on the demand out there, obviously. And yea, no thanks on Buerhle. It just seems like a needless risk, unless he's really cheap. The only reason we would acquire him is to flip him at the deadline. Given his history, it's a big risk to think he'll be healthy all the way through July 31. Why would the only reason we'd acquire him be to flip him at the deadline rather than to have a good relatively young pitcher? Unless you're confident enough he can stay healthy and you sign him to an extension, you'd have to think that would be the reasoning since he's only got 1 year left on his deal.
