  1. Refs benched Hammons for you Not one of those 3 fouls was even a questionable call. I think his 3rd was pretty questionable. That's the one they called him going over Bertrand. There wasn't a whole lot of contact there. Plus, like any game, they missed calls against Illinois as well. Bertrand I think it was who was on a fast break and carried like a mofo, etc. The refs aren't the reason Illinois lost. Hammons ate Egwu's lunch and missing the front end of three 1-1's was a huge blow. If you read the post right above the one Bob quoted, I say exactly that. They didn't deserve to win and the officiating had little/nothing to do with the outcome.

  3. Abrams takes awful shots and makes bad decision with the ball in the lane, Bertrand forgot how to play basketball last night, missed free throws, and that game wouldn't have been near as close as it was if Ekey hadn't hit a couple threes he shouldn't even have been shooting. All around pathetic. And Hammons travels every time he touches the ball in the post and doesn't ever get called for it.
  4. Yeah, if they're leaking things I would think they're setting themselves up to bolt after the 5 year mark for sure. Not sure why they would need to set themselves up for that. They can just walk away after 5 years. A whole bunch of reasons, first and foremost to make it look like it's not their fault if there isn't a bunch of winning going on at that point.

  6. I'm rooting for the 49ers. I can't stand Carroll and for whatever reason, probably the ex-Bear factor, I love Harbaugh and his I really don't give a damn what you think this is how I'm doing things attitude.
  7. Well, I went with gut feeling, but this makes me feel a lot better about voting for CJ.
  8. I've gone out of my way to see the guy play in person. I'm well aware of who he is, but not dressed in a baseball uniform and in a random shot on a snowy Wrigley Field, I kind of thought it was probably him but wasn't close to sure. And I had no idea who the dude with the bu font was.
  9. Or at least, asked nicer. Well, it was the 2nd time today somebody posted a random picture of Cubs minor leaguers and of the 5 guys pictured, I could identify 1 because his name was visible on his jersey. Yes, I certainly could have been more polite about it.
  10. It could reveal a source or something that he doesn't want to expose and lose what info he does get. I don't think it's all that weird of a way to put it.
  11. Well, obviously, but idk I'd just think that if you cared enough about the Cubs to post here you probably at least googled the hope of the franchise at least once. Also, he's usually wearing a hat in every picture and he's kinda not in this one.
  12. You know, when you guys post pictures like that, it'd be really helpful to tell us who the hell the people in it are. Not all of us immediately recognize everyone in the entire organization. Thanks!
  13. Some guy, like a random caller with an idea, or some guy, like a new LB coach? A reporter type who seemd to have a clue. Don't remember the name. It was in the 11:00 hour if you want to look for it.
  14. That was a pick 3 vote and this is a pick 1 vote.
  15. McNeil and Speigel just had some guy on that said Shea and Bostic are going to compete for the SAM LB spot in camp next year. That seems like a really terrible idea considering Shea gets blown to bits trying to play the run.
  16. You would think they'd have to have some sort of agreement with local affiliates to broadcast games in the Cubs territory that aren't in the Chicago tv market. I can't imagine they'd be able to make any real money if they didn't.
  17. I'm pretty sure the dark skinned gentleman wearing the Soler jersey is Soler, but I could be wrong.
  18. Probably Jim Caldwell. Munchak is apparently high on the list as well. This is looking like a bad hire for Detroit. Man, their upper management must be really terrible. With everything they have in place it would seem to be a really desirable job that you could walk into and have a ton of success.
  19. They can't seem to get that built so they had to come up with something else?
  20. Probably because Soler died mid season last year and hasn't been seen since. In all seriousness, that's a big part of why I voted for Almora. He hasn't been the most durable guy thus far, but he at least played a decent amount and was good when he did. Soler was swinging bats at opposing players (not a huge factor in my mind btw) and broken after that. I'm still a huge fan and it's amazing that a guy as highly regarded as he is is only ranked 3rd or 4th in the system, but I need to see him healthy and productive before I get fully back on board.
  21. It's not as if NW was lighting up the scoreboard. Of far greater concern to me was the Illini's complete inability to put the ball in the basket. Like the first half in Madison, but even worse. Rice can score, but we need shooters, and the only light at the end of that tunnel (as far as this season is concerned) is the potential development of Nunn and Hill. Well, I'm not as concerned about the shooting because they missed about 87 shots from inside of 5 feet. Most night a whole lot more of those are going in. It was definitely painful to watch though. The lack of consistent movement on the offensive end and Abrams' insistence on taking the ball to the hole or throwing up a crap 15-18 footer is much more of a concern for me.
  22. well, at least that was rational until it got to the comma Sully.
  23. I don't think there were that many Indiana fans there.
  24. I remember a month or so ago there was a theory that there definitely would be a fair amount of guys who wouldn't vote for him knowing he was a lock to get in and they would use his vote on someone else they thought might have a hard time even staying on the ballot for next year, let alone get elected this year, they think is worthy. I get that line of thought, I guess. That's the only acceptable line of thinking that gets Maddux left off a ballot. I'm willing to bet that not even close to all 14 of those ballots had 10 guys voted for on them though.
  25. None of the above. She's got a great rack and the Cat daddy video is fantastic, but there are many others out there I'd rather have my way with.
