  1. He's a backup infielder that probably won't make the roster now that Bonifacio is on board. Fun fact - He hit 19 HR in 2011 and was worth 3.7 wins that year. Less fun fact: Wikipedia tells me his nickname is "Tatman." What the odds that he gave himself that nickname, and tries way too hard to get everyone else to call him it but nobody ever does?
  2. Ryan Roberts Just no. He has a star branded on his side? Go away. He appears to be a Theriot level douche on steroids.
  3. Who's the clown with the neck tat? By default I can't like him because I bitched about Yadi's neck tat forever.
  4. Noelle Pikus-Pace really looks a lot like Chelsea Peretti from Brooklyn 99.
  5. I don't like you any more.
  6. The joker with 40 points has also traveled every time he's done that stupid spin move and it hasn't been called once. And yes, the record for most shots missed inside 5 feet went down weeks ago. Doesn't help the refs quit blowing the whistle on Nebraska as soon as UI hit the bonus.
  7. Illinois' inability to either be prepared to shoot when they catch or their unwillingness to shoot when they catch is disturbing. I just want to have a couple guys who can actually shoot and make decent decisions most of the time. This is just painful to watch most of the time. At least the Freshmen seem to be progressing and getting more PT. Pretty sure Rice just got away with one.
  8. Not sure if srs but the whole "they don't have the money to start construction right now" angle is hilarious. In what way is it hilarious? The most logical conclusion about the delay is the Cubs have made a decision to stall. Not really, but OK. Goony, you've lost all concept of logic if you really think that. They may have made a decision to stall because of lawsuit potential, but there's not even a bit of an inkling that they would stall this project because of a lack of funds. Not extend payroll, yeah, maybe, but they're not so broke they can't start the renovations.
  9. If he really did fix something last year and his 2nd half results just weren't luck/sample size I'd be fine going 4/60-5/75 on Ubaldo. He put up a 3fWAR in the 2nd half, with a 10.7 k/9, 2.17 FIP, 2.99 XFIP, and that was with a .311 BABIP. Somebody recently linked to an article that showed he wasn't very good when he wasn't facing the dregs of the league, which is who he pitched against in like 10 of his last 12 starts when his numbers got really good.
  10. 2 of those teams aren't really very good and the other one was injured when they played them?
  11. Scott Van Pelt had a Cleveland sports media guy on his radio show today that said this was probably a good move. The guys who are gone hadn't meshed well with ownership and the new guy apparently is pretty widely respected throughout the league. Sounds like it's something Cleveland fans are okay with too.
  12. I think the dynamic of him being on an NFL team will be different than at Mizzou simply because the rest of the team had already established a relationship with him before he came out, even though many of them were probably aware of it before he made it official. He was an established team leader prior to coming out and will have to establish both his ability to be on an NFL field and his ability to be a teammate at the same time. It could be tough for him, especially with the uber religious crowd in the NFL. It shouldn't be an issue, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if 1 or 2 idiots on whatever team he ends up on can't handle it.
  13. I missed this. I went there based on high recommendations from some friends and while it was good, I wasn't all that impressed.
  14. It's on from 2-4 am on NBCSN tonight. On DirecTV there's a feature on NBCSN that let's you look at upcoming events and medals counts. Kind of cool.
  15. That's interesting. Looks like they haven't quite decided to tell Tunney to go jump in a lake yet. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140206&content_id=67496460&vkey=pr_chc&c_id=chc
  16. I think he mentioned he swapped out for a different location, but N&G's seats last year were pretty sweet. And reasonably priced.
  17. Living in St. Louis I can attest that Provel cheese tastes like garbage and BO. I can't even get my mind to fully grasp how bad Provel is. I try explaining it to people who haven't tried it, but I just don't have the words. Here's how I describe it to people: It's like Velveeta and ketchup on a saltine and a large that I can polish off about 2/3 of myself is $20.
  18. Wainwright had a similar situation when he was with Atlanta. I don't know why these guys choose to try to rehab instead of just getting the fix done to get it over with. You're going to end up having the surgery eventually anyway, might as well get it out of the way.
  19. That should get reversed.
  20. No, he's drawn the perfect team to play in this game. And how the hell is the crowd this loud?
  21. Is anybody else getting really bad delays like the refresh rate on your TV is slow?
  22. My brain has trouble separating Maples, Underwood and Blackburn for some reason. I can't keep the 3 of them straight. I voted for Hendricks.
  23. They'll be lucky to shoot 42% on layups.
  24. Is Sanchez the guy who was good with SF for a while and then bombed with the Royals last year?
  25. I think the conference is a lot deeper than anticipated, even with UI being bad. The middle is a lot better than I expected. Michigan will only get better once the get the big guy back and MSU has played really well without Payne in the lineup.
