    I would imagine optioning him back to Iowa would be a problem and since it's just a one day thing Beeler is getting the call. Once Hammel and/or Shark are gone I'd bet Wada is the first option since it would be more of a rest of the season type situation.

    I think you meant "profoundly erotic." What in God's name is wrong with you. Well, the college girl they had dressed up as her at the princess party I took my daughter to a couple months ago certainly elicited that reaction from me, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

    Mine usually pauses there for a bit using Firefox but then loads fine. My laptop is crap though and I'd honestly recommend spending $100 on a BluRay that has the app on it. It's a much better option and the HD picture is great on my big screen. It's a bit darker than a normal broadcast, but really high quality.

    Feel bad for him, but also very fortunate that it was detected early instead of too late. Honestly, gun to my head in the same situation, I almost think I'd rather have it undetected and have my heart explode on the court. Go out doing something you love and your family is taken care of as well.

    Is having your highest OPS in AAA really that much of a game changer? I would think so, especially when you combine it with the fact that Javy is struggling at the same level facing the same pitchers after destroying A and AA last year. I don't really think Javy's situation applies. He's struggling due to his own personal flaws that everybody knew long ago. He's a huge swing and miss guy. But guys produce in AAA. Josh Vitters had a boost in his numbers the first time he went to AAA after a high 700s OPS in AA. It's not an across the board thing, but the league average OPS in the PCL this year is 767, while the league average OPS in AA last year was 683. Having your career best numbers in the PCL doesn't strike me as all that meaningful. Right, but it's comparable to Javy in that they both started out pretty terribly and Alcantara has improved each month, indicating he's figuring things out, especially when you look at the K/BB numbers.

    Huh, yeah, that looks pretty negligible. Outside of the extra year in NYC, I'd say that $1.5MM over 4 years is a pretty negligible difference between the other 3.

    Odd way of putting that. It's like saying that Kris Bryant is like Josh Vitters except he is good at baseball. How was Jim Belushi ever a thing as long as he was? According to Jim and everything else he has ever done are just wretched. It can't just be his last name. most people are stupid that said, it reminds me of something else. i don't know anybody that likes joe buck. not a single person. yet fox employs him as their lead sports guy to do like everything. WHY? there are other guys out there like this, too. were there people who actually liked joe morgan when he was doing the espn broadcasts for so many years? Buck actually comes off pretty well when you get him out of national broadcaster mode. He's been on a radio show I listen to and when he's just goofing off and being himself instead of Fox Announcer Guy, he's really pretty funny and likable. And it does in fact pain me to say that after listening to him and McCarver slob every Cardinal player's knob year after year.

    Well, I guess that makes Alcantara, Vogelbach, Baez, and Hanneman's numbers less depressing. Also, Bryant is ridiculous.

    Dreaming on future infield of: C: Schwarber 1B Rizzo 2B Baez 3B Bryant SS Castro Defense be damned. That would seem to clash with Bosio's ability to improve GB%. Three of those guys are fine and it sounds like Schwarber can field a bunt, so just don't throw down and in to righties or down and away to lefties to avoid ground balls to Bryant at 3B. And he'll just hit extra HRs to make up for any fielding gaffes anyway.

    Well, you don't draft a guy like Marco Gonzalez and worry about arbitration/super 2 considerations. He's also only coming up for one start as Joe Kelly is about to come back and Carlos Martinez has the other hole filled. That's not necessarily the case. I think Kelly has another couple weeks before he's ready and based on what the cards beat reporter said on the radio this morning, it sounds more like a see how he does and then make a decision kind of deal.
