  1. Edwin Jackson has been less than stellar so far this year and is throwing a 1 run game right now. I'm pretty sure it's tough to hit for everybody tonight and the pitching doesn't have as much to do with it as the weather.
  2. He could've hit into a double play, so yes, it could have gone worse. And there's a little evening out of luck for us.
  3. I was watching a highlight reel of this the other day and it was the Astros' broadcast. JD was the color guy. I didn't know he'd been there that long.
  4. What is this? I've never heard of it.
  5. With Cardinal pixie dust, all things are possible.
  6. He and Barney shouldn't be seeing as much time as they are. Even if Valbuena doesn't hit lefties (and he's got reverse splits, or close anyway), he puts together much better ABs than Barney. And I don't care if it's Coghlan out there every day, somebody other than Nate would be nice.
  7. Plenty of people are sick of losing. Few make up narratives and turn a blind eye to everything good happening just to have an excuse to spout off regularly. It entirely possible to be excited about the prospects and pissed off and frustrated about how bad the ML team has been and looks to continue to be.
  8. And in this case he has an absolutely legitimate gripe and bukie is talking out his ass about who knows what.
  9. Downs is 3 months older than me and is old as hell for baseball. Depressing.
  10. Schlitter has been solid too. As a group, if they throw strikes, they all have nasty enough stuff to get guys out. I just get nervous as hell most of the time that they're going to have no idea where the ball is going.
  11. They could probably give him a shot, but between his age and injury history, letting him be a dynamite reliever starting ASAP is probably a similar if not better value. I didn't realize he had the injury history. I'm good with the nasty he brings out of the pen in that case.
  12. So why can't Ramirez start? Those 3 pitches make it look like he could handle it to me.
  13. I don't think there's much doubt his foot was off the bag, but I'm not sure they'll change it.
  14. My only problem with it is the fact that he was up 2nd in the last inning. I would have gone with the PH there but I'm not all that concerned until a guy gets on. He should pull him then (now).
  15. Is he going to send Shark back out there? What's he at 108 pitches?
  16. She's rougher than her. At least alive her. Who would you rather? Headless Kate Upton All the important parts are still there. Why not?
  17. That's not why this happened. Why are you so freaking good at saying dumb [expletive]? So what situation did you want to save Rondon for? It's the 9th inning of a tied game, you are home team…when is the save situation going to happen? So either you are saying we simply can't use him in this game because he's the closer or you have to use him in a non-save situation. He has been one of our best relievers, why wouldn't you use him then? If you bring in someone else and he blows it, you'd be bitching because he didn't use Rondon. I didn't want to use him because he's a young guy with a history of arm problems and this was the 3rd day in a row he pitched. I don't have a problem putting him in the game, I didn't want him to go for a 3rd day in a row, especially in a non-save situation.
  18. That's the first time in a while I've been unhappy with a Renteria decision on the pen. I didn't like bringing him in there for a 3rd day in a row.
  19. Angel Hernandez is such a dick. I have no idea why he's still got a job. He's so bad.
  20. Typically, I would agree. But he's been so locked in lately, I liked the attempted ambush. Yeah, you knew Lynn didn't want to get behind so it was likely he'd throw a get it over the plate 1st pitch. It wasn't a bad pitch to hit really.
