  1. Yep, those 2 unleashing the beast would surely break the Cards spirits. That is, if Jake doesn't do it first.
  2. 8 more just like that one Jake. No dicking around tonight, my heart can't take it.
  3. If they close it out tomorrow, I'd go Lester in game 1 of the NLCS to keep them closer to regular rest and also to have Jake available later in the series for a potential close out game.
  4. Are Jeffery and Royal likely to be back this week?
  5. because the chiefs don't have a camera on the goal line. I don't understand how that's not mandatory in every stadium. Ridiculous. And he was in.
  6. I'm heading down there now. God speed, gentlemen. I look forward to sharing stories of Cardinal fan tears seen in person while I celebrate massive dongs aplenty.
  7. I'm glad my neighbors couldn't hear that because it probably sounded like someone just got murdered at my house.
  8. He's everything I dreamed he'd be so far tonight. Keep it rolling.
  9. Doooooooooooooooooooooooooooon't caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare.
  10. I saw a tweet that mentioned Grasu working with the first team and referred to him as "C Hronis Grasu", so that would be my assumption.
  11. .666 career OPS, OPSing .642 this year. I don't know what is going on with their roster but it does seem like a pretty poor bat to put in such a premium offensive position This seems to be a purely avoid making a critical error in a huge game move and Alvarez has booted the ball plenty this season, even at first. Kind of a double edged sword for them, put in the defensive lineup to save runs because you figure it'll be a low scoring game while at the same time handicapping yourself with less offense and reducing the likelihood you do score many runs.
  12. I'll be absolutely stunned if Arrietta isn't hitting 9th. He's going 8 innings easy.
  13. I do not get tired of watching that. I feel bad for him, but I laugh and laugh every time. Absolutely, especially the "stanky leg" version.
  14. this isn't football, it's not going to do them any good to get extra pumped up with a "nobody respects us" mentality. I actually hope that the Pirates are overly hyped for this game and ready to swing out of their shoes at the first pitch. It's funny you should mention that because Harold Reynolds and Billy Ripkin thought that's exactly the approach they should take against Jake. Watching those two talk about baseball is about the most pointless thing ever. That's not what they said. They simply were advocating attacking early before he gets up in the count and can throw whatever the hell he wants that you have no chance to hit. They're still idiots, but I don't think advocating attacking a guy like Jake early in the count is a terrible idea.
  15. I was thinking about going but the options to fly there and back from STL are completely horrid.
  16. [tweet] [/tweet]
  17. He tweeted it out today so there's no reason not to post/discuss. I saw it anyway.
  18. At Wrigley, SRO is at the very back of the 200 level. Terrible place to watch a game as pretty much everything besides the actual field is blocked from the overhang. So you might see all the fielders (or might not depending on pole placement where you stand) but you won't see the OF wall or the stands or scoreboards etc. I can understand wanting to just get in the park and for an NLCS or World Series game I would totally do it...would never do it for a regular season game. Is there still SRO in the bleachers? I did that for the 2007 game against the Dbacks.
  19. Here's the graphic. [tweet]https://twitter.com/ohwatson/status/651127466937847808[/tweet]
  20. Would you have been happier with 12:45? That's the best it was going to be with the west coast game the same day.
  21. I certainly won't, but that's because the booze will start flowing down my throat the minute I get home from work. I'll be numb and completely irrational by the end of the game, win or lose.
  22. Funny you should mention this. I have a Cubs fan coworker with season tickets at Busch that just told me he'd sell me 2 of his bleacher seats for Friday at face value if the Cubs win Wednesday. JACKPOT!!!!!
