  1. Do they even exist there anymore? The place that had them is closed. There were a couple variations too weren't there? Like a sausage patty and brown gravy maybe? And I think they're just referred to as a horseshoe most everywhere else.
  2. Orioles gonna Oriole: [tweet] [/tweet]
  3. it'll be kinda anticlimactic for me on that end. i don't think that can get better than watching their reaction to literally getting donged into space in the playoffs. No, the extended misery of watching them die a slow death during the season and their fans knowing that it will be this way for at least a few years will be glorious. Of course, I live in the heart of Cardinal fandom, so I may be a little more bitter about it than most of you.

  5. Again, they were down three starters in both those games. They have some talent, but no depth to overcome being down 3 starters. Of course the complexion of any team is going to change if 60% of the expected starting lineup is missing for nearly the entire season. Enough to go from "had some promise" to "train wreck." Of course Groce being in over his head plays a part as well, but there was certainly some talent to hope on, at least. Not that any of this matters in the least, just didn't get why that was such an outrageous claim. No one in the modern college game can be down three starters and be expected to win. He knows this, he's just being a toolbox. And to be clear, all I thought was that we had a shot at the tournament. Yeah, the entire complexion of the team changes if Hill doesn't have to do everything (run point most of the time, be the primary rebounder, play the 4 against bigger guys constantly). He's got more energy to devote to scoring, you have an actual inside presence with Thorne and Black on defense, another guard on the floor who can shoot a little in Abrams, who knows how things end up. Certainly not as a sub .500 team overall.
  6. Yeah, this seems like the most likely scenario. He probably just hangs out with Maddon.
  7. Maybe your robot eyes automatically sort that, but add some code to that horsefeathers so it's readable.
  8. Man, if ever there was a time for a sulley only my teams rant, the end of that game last night was it. What a crock of horsefeathers. That shot by Hill should have been an and 1 instead of a common foul and then he got mugged after that with no call.

    NFL Offseason

Why does he want to get rid of the tailgating? That seems like a really weird reason to refuse to work with the city to get a brand new stadium.
  10. I picture him as the Joan Rivers robot from Spaceballs.
  11. Not sure if it's been posted anywhere or not, but the '85 Bears 30 for 30 airs at 8 CST on Thursday.
  12. If John Groce loses his job, I can't say I'll feel all that bad for him. These guys absolutely do not play as a team, constantly missing mismatches in the post, not throwing it down to a guy after he re-posts, going 1 on everyone far too often, and generally just doing a piss poor job of decision making when it comes to shot selection.

    NFL Offseason

According to Schefter on ESPN a little while ago, it has a whole lot more to do with nagging injuries than anything else and he actually discussed it with people before the season with the mindset that this year would be his last and asked them to keep it quiet.
  14. Running is the absolute worst. No, Brandon, YOU are!
  15. http://31.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2rp7dKH391qhz348.gif Clearly you've never run 3 miles all out over varied terrain to the point of nearly puking.
  16. College basketball officiating is such a ridiculous joke. Illinois down 3 with 10 seconds or so left, Malcolm Hill basically gets run over by an OSU defender on a botched handoff and no call. Then, in the ensuing scrum for the ball, at least 3 or 4 fouls take place with no call being made. Likely no difference in outcome of the game, but what an absolutely horrific display.
  17. Good lord, Minnesota is getting some home cooking tonight.
  18. If fries need ketchup, they're bad fries. Not true. But parmesan truffle fries are definitely where it's at.
  19. I don't know who you weird ass people are that don't put anything on your waffles, but you couldn't possibly be more wrong. Waffles are so meh, they NEED ice cream or syrup to taste delicious. Ideally, you cut off a piece of waffle, then dip it in syrup to enjoy all of the flavors and get the terrific crispiness. Preferable, there's some sort of pie filling like fruit and whipped cream to top them though.
  20. If the Cubs want to sell their beer cheaper than the bars, they should be able to do so. Oh, I agree, I'm just saying the bar owners concerns certainly aren't unwarranted. It's up to them to figure out how to survive.
  21. It's not an unreasonable stance to take. Ballpark Village down here has had a significant effect on many bars/restaurants around the park to the point that several have/are closing because of lost business. Personally, I hate the place because it's so corporate and antiseptic, not to mention the crappy beer choices, but you can't account for the general public just wanting to pound Bud Lights.
  22. I don't even see him. EDIT: Oh [expletive], he cut his hair. I see him now. I thought that was John Lester, until I spotted John Lester, so... I'm kinda with Derwood on this one. Who is John Lester? Also, holy [expletive] you guys are terrible at recognizing people's faces. No they're not.....shaved head Travis Wood looks stunningly like Lester in that shot. I did the same thing and didn't realize who it was until weis' post.
  23. Having lived there for 13 years now as an "outsider", the biggest problem in my eyes is that it's such an insular place. They have no interest in change or outside thought and it's really the biggest reason that there's never any progress made toward revitalizing the downtown area. There's a ton of great stuff in the city, especially for families, but all the white folk are so damned afraid to spend any time there that it's impossible to get anything substantive done to change the reality and perception of the city. It's really amazing to me how many people who are from St. Louis end up back there, even after going out and experiencing the rest of the world and getting great educations elsewhere. It's just a weird phenomenon.
  24. I really hope you're not making light of his appearance because he's got cerebral palsy.
