Yep.

This was kind of how I was looking at it. Didn't really think it was a big deal.

And don't forget to factor in the financing plan Zell required for the purchase so he didn't have to pay as much in taxes on the sale. That factor alone greatly narrowed the field of potential buyers so we possibly end up with the Ricketts anyway.

I'm torn as to what I would enjoy more, them signing him to some huge dollar contract and then him being terrible or the absolute hell that will break loose when they don't sign him at all.

I'm not a big Michigan fan, but any time one of the rigatoni boys loses I'm a happy camper.

Breaking: Adrian Gonzalez is still mad and no fun. [tweet] [/tweet] -
Happ just went deep again. Kid is killing it right now.

My earliest Cubs game memory is my grandparents 50th anniversary celebration being at Wrigley. No memory of the game, but it was June 1993. Random Tuesday in June 2002 where Alex Gonzales hit a walk off HR. Stupid one pitch Rich Hill and the lead off HR by Chris young in NLDS game 3 2007. May 14th 2012 when I took my daughter to her first game ever. Cubs beat the Cards at Busch. Game 5 of the 2016 WS. Nuff said.

Especially since they named Walker the intern and he would then be suspended if they were selected. But, it won't happen. What's this?
-
Obviously not the same type of movement or stress on that part of the body, but Wainwright blew his out on opening day and pitched in October, so an additional month is probably not completely out of the question timewise. Especially when you consider this guy is 10+ years younger and probably in better shape to begin with.

I can't believe how bad this team ended up. Defensive intensity is non existing, offensive strategy is 20 years behind. Good job, good effort. How do you lose to a team that had their routine that screwed up by 20? Yeesh.

Top 108 Moments for the 2016 Cubs (Now complete!)

I live in St. Louis and had to pull a lot of strings to make it up for the weekend they were in Chicago for the WS. I'm jealous of those that can go to games on the regular. -
Four Peaks Brewery tour. Hike Camel Back (but try not to have to crap your pants halfway up like I almost did).

This game was probably generally more exciting, but watching WS Game 5 in the bleachers with the KB homer and 2 2/3 innings of nothing but tension from Chapman was absolutely nuts as well. I would imagine any home playoff win this year would go down as the best game you'd ever been to though. -

Regardless of what you guys think, there's no way that play was getting overturned from the original call. I'm still not convinced he was out, as much as I want to believe he was. His whiny bitch reaction definitely makes me smile though. -
The lack of defensive intensity early in the season made them unwatchable. I've missed the last few games but that's encouraging to hear.
-
I'd guess most people are familiar with Night at the Roxbury at least.
-
I will never tire of seeing that video in general and being able to pick myself out of the crowd on the Bryant WS Game 5 homer.
-
Based on the fill in the blank video, Rizzo's name should be Tank Top Tony.

i don't see it. they're going to want to be cautious with him. and on top of that, they have contreras and miggy...and miggy really started to come on at the plate once he made some adjustments late in the year. i could actually see him playing himself into a little more playing time than we expect (both because he's good and because it'll keep willson fresher). if there's an injury, maybe he works his way into the mix if his knee feels good enough, but idk otherwise. He said 2018. As in when Miggy isn't around anymore.
-
Indeed. I was rooting for them in the WS back in 2006, like the rest of us. He did seem like one of the few genuine, friendly good owners in an age where there seem to be more bad (if not evil) owners overall. PS -- All that said, "Little Caesars" is really horsefeathers, low-grade pizza. Shouldn't be proud of founding that restaurant chain... Um I'm not gonna criticize "low grade" pizza thats ready for me on demand for $5. Sorry not sorry. Not to mention the fact that it's miles better than the garbage they try to sell as pizza in St. Louis.

Their leading scorer was out last night and they still almost beat Illinois.
-
LOL. I haven't seen that yet. That's just horrible. He's underrated IMO. Closest guys I can think of in that era would be Bernard King or Alex English? Dominique

The longstanding backstory to the W presidency was that Cheney made all the plannin' and Bush was there to convince the yokels he was somebody they could have a beer with, and therefore agree with what Cheney pushed. And what Cheney pushed was WAR WAR WAR, MURDER MURDER MURDER, DEATH DEATH DEATH. But also PROFIT PROFIT PROFIT for Haliburton.
