  1. He throws it so damn hard every time and it scares the crap out of me every single time. Dammit.
  2. Edmonds was actually really horsefeathering good defensively before he got old, narratives about intentionally making catches look spectacular aside. Oh I know, I feel like he probably falls into the category of being a little less athletic/quick as other guys, like you laid out with Almora. He didn't have great speed/range which forced him into having to get extra good jumps/reads and make a lot of running/diving plays. He always played shallow as hell too and that contributed to the highlight reel nature of a lot of his catches.
  3. Ooooh, look, it's our resident bastion of positivity!
  4. Neil Ramirez just got DFAd so we could grab him.
  5. Neil Ramirez just got DFAd so we could grab him.
  6. Hasn't he been doing that all season? I thought it was intentional. He has and they were talking about it on MLB network recently. His arm slot is lower and his front foot is noticeably more toward 3rd base as well. All that combined with the velocity drop tells me he's either hurt or attempting to remake his delivery a bit to add some longevity. Considering he's now throwing more across his body, I doubt it's a delivery remake.
  7. last season the cubs didn't lose their 15th game until this April You want to take another stab at that?
  8. A ton of rain all day, cold, flooding everywhere with multiple road closures, and to top it off they moved the game to a night game instead of a day game. I'll give them a pass on attendance tonight. I did not know that Yeah, it's a nightmare south and southwest of the metro area. I-55 and I-44 both reopened early this morning after being closed for several days.
  9. Can you send me that somehow so I can troll Cards fans?
  10. Not quite exactly the same, but definitely very similar.
  11. Man, those balls were all hit really hard. Is he just rusty maybe?
  12. That pitch he just hit out was either by him or a weak pop up last year. That was a Stanton style HR.
  13. My goodness, if he's fixed this lineup when everyone is hitting is terrifying.
  14. The most fun part of that is how most of their fans have no idea how much of a paper tiger that team was because of the insane strand rate from their pitchers that year with an averagish defense behind them.
  15. Uh-oh. [tweet] [/tweet]
  16. au contraire... http://www.espn.com/blog/st-louis-cardinals/post/_/id/3093/cardinals-putting-up-the-money-to-take-down-the-cubs Wait, that article only has a time on it...not a date...is that from today? That seems like an awfully delusional piece to write at the moment. Delusional was the exact word that came to mind as I was reading it.
  17. This dude's name sounds like he's from the deep south and destined to be a BFIB favorite one day.
  18. That is very strange. Second time in three starts with 115 or more pitches this season per Keith Law. What is Matheny doing? Fairly certain he has no idea either.
  19. This is absolutely accurate.
  20. 32. And me either.
  21. Same. I got the first 3 easily but definitely had a WTF moment at Tony Armas.
  22. Just ballpark, how many of those top 10 pitching selections were made with the idea of saving bonus dollars for other picks? Maybe half? Less?
